Accompanied on the stage by Runaway June during her Cry Pretty Tour 360, Carrie Underwood delivered one of the most unforgettable renditions of “Why Haven’t I Hear From You” by country legend Reba McEntire.

The song was a part of the medley of the classical country songs, which Underwood prepared for the tour.

According to Underwood’s statement to Pollstar, she wanted to sing a medley of all the hit songs, those numbers that people have been hearing and singing for past 13 years.

Some of the iconic numbers that were included in the medley were “Stand By Your Man” by Tammy Wynette, “Walkin’ After Midnight” by Patsy Cline, and “9 to 5” by Dolly Parton.

She also explained that her own songs from the album “Cry Pretty” were also included in the performance. “Some may only be a quick snippet while I’m changing, 30 seconds, but the album is part of it," she told Pollstar.

Speaking to the same source, the country icon revealed that she planned a song for every mood for her performance. Underwood would start the performance with fun songs, then hit emotional numbers in the middle before ending it in an “uptempo, uplifting way.”

She wanted her number, “Love Wins” to be that closing song, just as it was “Something In The Water,” during her previous tour.

Meanwhile, Underwood also expressed her appreciation for her partners in the performance, Runaway June.

The singer claimed that the group had “earned” a spot in the tour and that they “deserved to be a part of it.” She also stressed that she was “a fan” of the group.

“They deserve to be there and they're gonna put on a great show, and I'm already proud of all that they've done. I'm a fan. But it's good when women support women," Underwood said of the Runaway June.

Cooke opened up to Pop Culture and said that being invited on the tour by Underwood was “flattering.”

Underwood is not new to collaborating with other artists during a live performance. Previously, she also joined country star Keith Urban on stage to surprise the audience attending his concert in Nashville, Tennessee.
