Octavia Spencer on a Terribly Awkward On-Set Makeout Scene

Octavia Spencer opened up about the difficulties she had working through a make-out scene in her latest movie, "Ma."

Octavia Spencer is one of the most acclaimed actresses in Hollywood, with an Oscar on her shelf, and two more Academy Award nominations, but her greatest challenge was a make-out scene in her latest movie, "Ma."

Spencer has opened up about the movie, and how she got through one of the most difficult moments in her career.

Spencer's new film is a psychological thriller, in which a woman with a secret befriends a group of teenagers, luring them into her web of deceit with alcohol.

Sue Anne, the woman the teens call 'Ma,' starts to manipulate them to get revenge for wrongs she feels were done to her in the past.

OCTAVIA SPENCER: "I CAN'T...I CAN'T DO THIS:"

For Spencer, 46, the hardest part of the shoot came when she had to do a scene in which she seduces one of the teens, Andy Hawkins, played by Corey Fogelmanis.

"Well, he looks 15 but he was really 18 but it was still very, very, very strange. It was all. I was in love so that's when you have to call on the character, you know, 'cause Octavia, I'm like, 'I can't...I can't do this,'" she confessed.

THE CHALLENGE OF PLAYING A KILLER

For Spencer, Sue Anne herself was a challenge, a manipulative, disturbed woman, whose past traumas explode into violence.

"I had to do a lot of research because she has a couple of issues that I had to work out and I thought, 'Oh, this is symptomatic of this and I don't wanna give it away'... But I was freaked out by some of the things she does," she said.

OCTAVIA SPENCER'S TRICK FOR AUDITIONING

Octavia Spencer confessed that if there is one thing she hates about her work as an actor, is auditioning. Thankfully, her success has freed her from having to audition for parts, but she shared her favorite trick.

“Choose freedom over fear. Confidence can get you into a lot of doors,” she said.

THE NEXT STEP IN OCTAVIA SPENCER'S CAREER

Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer has an ambition left to fulfill. She wants to be a Hollywood producer.

"The role I'm destined to play is to be one of the greatest producers in Hollywood, It's also quite terrifying because it's a huge undertaking, but I want to be a conduit for storytellers," she explained.
