Melania Trump Delivers an Emotional Memorial Day Speech Aboard the USS Wasp in Japan

Melania Trump turns heads with her white and orange abstract print coat and signature "So Kate" pumps, which she wore to deliver a touching Memorial Day speech in Japan.


During Memorial Day, the Trumps visited American troops in an assault ship, docked in Japan, who were cheering for their president. Donald Trump described the American servicemen and women as “daring and mighty warriors in the Pacific.”

“I have to wish you all a very happy Memorial Day,” said America’s president. “On this Memorial Day evening in the United States, Americans are concluding a sacred day of remembrance, reflection and prayer.”



It is no secret that America’s first lady likes to dress up fashionably, yet elegantly. During the four-day state visit to Japan, First Lady Melania Trump dazzled the eyes of the world with her different elegant outfits which were seen on various social media posts and news outlets.


Melania wore bright hues during their Memorial Day visit to at the USS Wasp in Yokosuka, Japan, where she delivered a speech. She said:

“It is a privilege to once again join with you, our incredible sailors and marines, on their USS Wasp at work here in the Pacific Ocean. Thank you for your service and sacrifice, and all that you do on behalf of our country.”

The first lady wore a coat with white and orange abstract prints and a white belt to pull the look together. She paired her outfit with yellow Christian Louboutin "So Kate" pointed toe pumps, which she regularly sports in different colors.



In an evening event with the Japanese emperor and empress at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo, Melania wore a beautiful pale J. Mendel floor-length gown with cape-like sleeves and silver embellishments, which fans on Twitter raved about.


The 49-year-old paired the flowing gown with feather details embroidered, with silver Christian Louboutin pumps and accessorized with a pair of diamond stud earrings.


Among the other agendas planned out for the Trump’s was watching a sumo wrestling match, which the president enjoyed after awarding the winner, Asanoyama, with a “Trump Cup” trophy weighing over 60 pounds.

Trump also met with Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako, making him the first leader to meet the new emperor since he ascended to the throne. The emperor and empress gave the Trumps traditional pottery and porcelain bowl as gifts during their meeting.
