DETAILS SURROUNDING THE LAWSUIT
New Jersey urologist Dr. Gregory Lovallo filed a legal complaint against the rapper for failing to pay for health services she received from him. He also claims Kim profited from an insurance scam.
According to Lovallo’s lawsuit, Kim, whose real name is Kimberly Denise Jones owes him $15,000 for urology-related treatment. He also says that in addition to failing to foot her bill, the “All About Benjamins” star “unjustly” pocketed money from insurance.
It's no secret Kim has been on the financial bend since news of her bankruptcy filing last year.
“Based upon information and belief, defendant improperly converted insurance proceeds to his/her own personal use,” Dr. Lovallo said in court documents obtained by Bossip. “Based upon information and belief, defendant was unjustly enriched.”
Though Lovallo doesn’t reveal how he came to the conclusion about the insurance scam, he’s demanding that the singer pays the $15,000 due to him along with interest and his lawyer’s fees.
BANKRUPTCY FILING
It's no secret Kim has been on the financial bend since news of her bankruptcy filing last year. She admitted to owing millions to creditors. Her problems reportedly began after she went to prison in 2005 for lying about a shooting incident. The album she released while she was behind bars suffered due to lack of publicity.
The singer expressed her frustration in April when she learned the scheduled release date of the new album titled “Nine”, her first in 14 years, was pushed back.
This was further aggravated in 2008 when her record label sued her for $2.5 million. At the time she filed for bankruptcy in June 2018, she was reportedly $4 million in debt. Kim got a little help from her good friend Missy Elliott who loaned her a little money but it appears there’s not enough cash to keep up with her lifestyle.
"BEYOND UPSET" OVER ALBUM RELEASE
News of Kim’s lawsuit comes in the heels of more bad news concerning her latest album. The singer expressed her frustration in April when she learned the scheduled release date of the new album titled “Nine”, her first in 14 years, was pushed back. It was scheduled for release on May 17 but due to label issues, there’s no telling when she can finally share the project to the public. Kim vented, “I am beyond upset” in an Instagram Story and also revealed Spotify was hating on her.
There appears to be a lot of negative vibes in Kim’s corner lately and we hope she has enough positivity in her to see it through.
