See Gabrielle Union's 'Shady Baby' Kaavia's Expression as She Turns 7 Months Old

Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade’s daughter, Kaavia James, is already 7-months old. The adorable “shady baby” melted hearts as she posed for her celebration pics donning clothes from the line she shares with her mom.

Time is flying, and Kaavia James is growing up fast, as she just celebrated her 7-month birthday on June 7.

To commemorate the occasion, Union took to the girl’s Instagram account to share a series of pics where Kaavia is seen donning a cute denim jumpsuit with a neon green zipper in the middle. She’s sitting on a sofa while holding a blue and green bottle that perfectly matches her outfit.

“Excuse me. Um excuse me? EXCUSE ME?! The bottomless mimosas appear to have a bottom! Also, I'm 7 months old today #ShadyBaby,” the caption of the post read.

FANS CAN’T STOP GUSHING ABOUT KAAVIA

Fans were quick to fill the comment section gushing about the baby’s funny faces and the original captions her mom comes up with to accompany her posts.

“Hey, 7-month-old!!!!! Give my baby bottomless drinks Dagnabbit! We don't play that!” wrote one user.

Another added, “Kaavi, you need a nap, girl! Once the refills end, that means it’s time to lay down. Ask me how I know..”

And a third one pointed out:

“Damn, she is her daddy’s child. Looking like him ALL day!”

HER FIRST CLOTHING LINE

Kaavia’s cute outfit is part of her mom’s New York & Company clothing collection for babies named after her—“Kaavi James by Gabrielle Union”—which was created for babies aged 0 to 24 months and ranges from $15 to $45.

The line includes pieces with polka dots, tie-dye, animal print, and stripes, and it also features some prints of words like “Dream” and even “#shadybaby” which is the nickname Gabby and her husband gave to their baby girl because of her hilarious facial expressions.

Union admitted to People a few months ago that although Kaavia looks a lot like her father, she gets the attitude from her. “She will stare into your soul and tell you about yourself through her eyes,” the proud mom said.

EXPLORING MOTHERHOOD

On top of having her first clothing line before even turning 1-year-old, Kaavia also did her debut on the cover of a magazine alongside Gabby on the May issue of Parents magazine.

Talking to the magazine, Gabby admitted that becoming a mother at 46 has had its ups and down, but she’s giving herself “permission to be human.”

“When I need a minute to return emails or cry or mindlessly scroll social media, I’ll take it. I’m not trying to be a perfect parent,” she revealed.

And continued:

“I’m okay with life not being balanced. I’m not hitting it out of the park in every area. There are times I should be studying lines, but I’m playing with my baby, and I’m enjoying it.”

DWYANE ON DADDY’S DUTIES

Despite her struggles, Union has the support of her husband, NBA star Dwyane Wade, whom she called a “stage mom.” “He’s very hands-on,” she said. “When he’s in Miami, and we’re in Los Angeles, he wants to know everything, from her poops to what outfit she’s wearing.”

Now that Wade has retired from the NBA, he has been spending more time with Kaavia while Union works on different projects.

As a result, there are adorable father-daughter moments like the one Gabby shared a few days ago of Wade encouraging Kaavia to crawl and reach for her bottle. In the end, she made it and grabbed his hand instead.
