Rihanna Wore Box Braids down to Her Waist & Fuchsia Minidress for NYC Fenty Pop-Up Launch
Rihanna was pretty in pink when she attended the launch of Fenty's first pop-up store in the country. Check out her stunning backless dress that grazed every curve of her body.
For the launch of her very first pop-up shop in the US, Rihanna dazzled in pink. The Fenty founder showed up fashioning the color literally from head to foot.
A FIRST FOR FENTY
June 18 was a big day for Rihanna whose luxury brand which recently partnered with LVMH graced ritzy SoHo with its presence. A launch party was held at The Webster for Fenty’s first pop-up store in the country located in the first two floors of the building.
RIHANNA SIZZLES IN PINK
Rihanna made sure her presence made a mark when she showed up in a hot pink mini-dress that flaunted all her curves. The bare-back dress which had a cowl neck, ruched sides, and thin straps hugged her figure as strings kept it together in the sides. She matched it with strappy pink stilettos and hot pink lips.
Ever the chameleon, Rihanna styled her red hair in box braids as aquamarine earrings dangled from her ears.
A NEW COLLECTION OUT
Spotted at the glitzy event were A-list guests including “Orange is the New Black” star Dashca Polanco and Marc Jacobs’ husband Char Defrancesco.
But the real star of the day was Rihanna and her luxury brand which just launched its new collection for its fashion line, Fenty Maison. Coinciding with the event, Rihanna introduced Release 6.19 on her website and dished about the new collection to E! News during the party.
“We always just try to push ourselves," she told the publication. "We pride ourselves in challenging ourselves to do better and push ourselves further, and how can we get our message across in a more impactful way. Whether it's through fashion, lingerie, music, makeup...we try to get everybody involved and included in our brand."
FENTY CELEBRATES DIVERSITY
Rihanna has prided herself in delivering products for everyone and her fashion line is no exception. It caters to all ages and body types because the singer/entrepreneur places a high value on inclusivity. A victim of body fluctuation herself, Rihanna understands the need to have clothes that conform to the changes in one’s body.
"We have our fit models, which is the standard size from factories, you just get your samples made in one size. But then, I want to see it on my body, I want to see it on a curvy girl with thighs and a little bit of booty and hips," she told E! News. "And now I have boobs that I never had before...you know, I don't even know how to sleep sometimes, it's challenging, so imagine getting dressed."
With that perspective, Rihanna makes sure her models also celebrate diversity. In fact, she recently made headlines when she featured a 67-year-old in Fenty’s first ad campaign. The gray-haired model completed her roundup which represented every woman of color. It was the perfect way to launch her evolving luxurious brand which anchors on the belief that luxury is for everyone.
