Sick Man Turns to His Doctor for Reassurance and Asks What Heaven Is Like

An ailing man curiously asked his physician about what comes after death. The doctor had just the perfect answer.

The moment came when the doctor just finished examining the sick man. Just as he was about to turn and leave, the patient turned and said:

“Doctor, I am afraid to die. Tell me what lies on the other side.”

The patient was startled when the doctor gave him an unexpected answer, gently replying that he had no idea. The patient asked in unbelief:

“You don’t know? You, a Christian man, do not know what is on the other side?”

While they spoke, the doctor had been standing and holding the door by its handle. Just on the other side, the doctor and his patient could hear sounds of scratching and whining.

Just as the doctor opened the door, a huge dog quickly jumped into the room and leaped onto the doctor and with an air of happiness too. Then, the doctor turned to look at the patient and used his dog as an example.

He pointed out the fact that the animal had no inkling of what exactly lies behind the door but still whined so eagerly longing to go into the room.

The doctor went on to wisely point out that that eagerness is borne out of the dog knowing that if nothing else, his master was present in the room. That was why, on finally getting the door to open, it jumped in without any fear.

He went on to finish his enlightening speech by defending his answer earlier that he had no idea of what comes after death. The doctor explained that he may not know what is on the other side, but that one thing he is and always will be sure of is that “my Master is there and that is enough.”
