On Tuesday’s episode of Chrisley Knows Best, the patriarch of the family clashed with his daughter. She felt like he was being difficult and not as supportive as she would have liked.

Todd Chrisley was his usual controlling self on the latest episode of Chrisley Knows Best. The family patriarch and his wife Julie Chrisley had to travel to California for a pageant.

Their daughter, Savannah Chrisley, 21, needed to prove her skills as the Event Director for the Miss California USA Pageant. Julie was a proud and supportive parent who was happy to see her daughter grow.

However, Savannah’s father hadn’t quite warmed up to the idea. While speaking to the camera he said: "Savannah has worked so hard, but she's green, so I know at some point she's going to need my expertise."

"Dad's attitude throughout this whole experience is awful.”

His wife was seen rolling her eyes as she usually does when he tries to control things. She tried to get him to back-off by insisting: "Todd, she's going to be fine."

However, his clever reply came quickly with him claiming: “Yeah, 'cause I'm going to be there to make sure of it." Soon enough, the father-and-daughter duo was clashing in their separate views.

Upset that his daughter was bringing her own ideas to the pageant, Todd complained to his wife saying: "Who does she think she is anyways?" Julie was the one who had the clever remark ready this time as she responded: "She's a mini you.”

Savannah later confessed that she was becoming tired of her father pitching late and distracting the women in the pageant. She shared: "Dad's attitude throughout this whole experience is awful.”

The reality star complained that she needed his assistance with certain things which “he either doesn't want to do it or he pouts.” Frustrated with Todd she stated: “So at this point, I'm just tired of it."

Julie tried to be the mediator between the two by speaking to her husband about his behavior. Todd couldn’t help but admit that he struggled with having to take the backseat and that "it's hard to figure out what to do with myself."

He told his wife that he’d always been there for their daughter and actually encouraged her to be independent. However, now that she was acting on his teachings he was at a loss as what to do “if I'm not doing everything for them?"

Julie listened then comforted him asking him to relax knowing he’d done a good job raising Savannah. She stated that their daughter "wants nothing more than to make you proud. So ditch the attitude and let her shine.”

Taking heed of his wife’s advice Todd apologized to his daughter, acknowledged his mistakes, and praised her for the work she’d done on the pageant. He also told her that he accepted the independent woman she had become.

In an interview earlier this month, Savannah opened up about the major lifestyle changes that she’d made in her life in preparation for her wedding. The reality star has partnered with South Beach Diet and is now living a much healthier lifestyle and it shows.

Savannah is engaged to professional hockey player Nic Kerdiles. Chrisley Knows Best airs on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on USA.
