Naomi Campbell Revealed Sometimes She Doesn’t Eat Every Day

At 49, Naomi Campbell still manages to maintain the incredible figure that helped her climb to the top of the modeling industry. The British beauty recently revealed some secrets about her diet and exercise routine, after admitting that she too suffered from body image issues for years.

Naomi Campbell is considered one of the most iconic supermodels in the industry, and after a career that spans over four decades, she still looks as beautiful as ever.

AN UNUSUAL DIET

In a recent interview with the British talk show “Lorraine,” Campbell opened about up about her unusual eating habits, revealing that she tends to eat when she “feels like it,” and also that there are days where she only ingests liquids.

“I don’t starve myself,” she clarified. “If I want to do a day of just not eating, I do it and just do water or juice. Depends on how I feel.”

“It’s taken me a long time to feel right in my body – it’s something that has come with age, and has really only happened over the past few years."

She added that, for example, she doesn’t feel like eating in high temperatures, saying:

“In the heat, sometimes I don't [eat], I just want to do juice. It's too hot. [It's] never planned. It could be one day; it could be two days a week. It's just when I feel like it."

CHANGING HER LIFESTYLE

Naomi is a vegetarian, according to what she told Harpers’ Bazaar in 2014, and she usually does juice cleanses two or three times per week.

“I went to this place where they teach you how to take care of your body and clean it inside and out. After that, I decided I didn't want to eat pork, chicken, or anything I felt was unhealthy,” she revealed at the time.

“I never thought I would ever do it. It was just something I decided to do. I don't know how long it's going to last, but I feel lighter and just easier. I think once you clean your intestine, you wanna try and keep it clean.”

On top of her healthy eating habits, Campbell said on “Lorraine” that she started to work out a few years ago, although she has admitted she’s not a fan of the regular gyms.

“I like it. Not so much machines. Like, circuit training,” she said. “I need to keep doing different things, and I have a great trainer called Joe that I love working out with.”

EMBRACING HER FIGURE

Although Campbell has been lauded as one of the most beautiful women in the world, and was, for a long time, the standard of beauty for models of color, she surprised fans a few months ago when she admitted on an essay for Vogue UK that she never felt at ease with her body.

“It’s taken me a long time to feel right in my body – it’s something that has come with age, and has really only happened over the past few years,” she wrote.

“My mentality has played a big part in that journey, and working out has helped because it strengthens my mind, too – I’m not trying to become a muscle woman but, for me, the two things come as a package.”

Part of her journey to embrace her body came with the realization of not taking her body for granted.

“For me, it’s all connected – I need a healthy body for a healthy mind and a healthy spirit,” she admitted. “I know that what comes from within is projected outwards.”

Campbell will be turning 50 this year, and she plans to celebrate with a special event that will reunite the people that has been supporting her through the past years.
