Singer August Alsina in Hospital after Losing Ability to Walk

August Alsina is confined in the hospital after suddenly losing his ability to walk. The rapper opened up about his tough battle with an autoimmune disease that has made him temporarily paralyzed.

August Alsina had to cancel his performance at this year's Essence Festival, and he decided to let his followers know why. While sitting on his hospital bed, he recalled how he realized he was suddenly unable to walk.

“I woke up one day and wasn’t able to walk, couldn’t feel my legs, and my doctor ended up admitting me into the hospital."

Battle with an Autoimmune Disease

It turns out, the rapper had nerve damage as a result of the autoimmune disease, wherein the immune system attacks healthy cells in the body by mistake. Adding some humor to the painful and traumatizing situation, he said:

“It’s like my immune system just went on vacation, so I’m just waiting on it to come on back.”

He tried to lighten up the situation some more by showing off his new "car," which was actually a walker.

A Rumored Affair

A couple of months ago, Alsina was rumored to be having an affair with Jada Pinkett-Smith. His music video for one of his latest singles seems to imply that, but in fact, the two have only been friends for a while now. The 26-year-old even revealed that the 47-year-old "Red Table Talk" host helped him cope with addiction.

Neither of them ever addressed the rumors, but a newly-released video for "Nunya" is cryptic as ever. It centers around a conversation between Alsina and one of his former flings, who does not reciprocate his gestures.

The first hint was that the conversation was labeled as "Koren," which is Jada's middle name. It also seems to be hinting a secret affair.

To add to the speculations, a GIF of Pinkett-Smith was used in one of the conversations flashed on the video, as he belts:

"You got me feeling like it was an act / You’re just an actress!! / Putting on a show / ‘Cause you don’t want the world to know / That you lost a man who loved you all along / Ain’t nunya business to know who I’m with.”

Pinkett-Smith has yet to publicly announce support for Alsina since having trouble walking. Since the music video was released, that may not be happening, much to the disappointment of fans who have been speculating their affair.
