Andy Cohen Has Been Rooting for Wendy Williams for Years and Talks Kevin Hunter
In troubled times, Wendy Williams has found an unexpected ally — famous talk show host and father of one, Andy Cohen.
Cohen recently made an appearance on “The Wendy Williams Show.” There, he dished out details about his decision to become a father, the tenth season of “Watch What Happens Live,” as well as his thoughts about the ongoing drama on “Housewives.”
What is, however, making news right now is the statement he made about secretly rooting for Williams for a long time. Cohen’s Thursday appearance makes his first in six years.
He amused the audience when he praised Williams for divorcing her husband of many decades and former manager, Kevin Hunter. It is no longer news that Wendy filed for divorce from Hunter following reports that he had been cheating on her.
Cohen found her bold move ofsevering all ties, personally and professionally, with Hunter, really laudable. In a tone of complete admiration, he said:
“Your husband was not my biggest fan, but I want you to know I have been cheering you on the last six years.”
He continued his prideful declaration by expressing delight that he was gracing the seats again after so many years.
“I’m happy to be back, and I’m so happy about Wendy in the city,” Cohen said hinting at Williams’ previous comments about her new life as a single woman in New York City.
“You seem light as a feather!” he excitedly said, and Williams responded, “Life has really changed.”
Williams, who is 55 years old, and Cohen, 51, seemed to hit it off so quickly that it was hard to tell they had been apart for so long. Both well-recognized television personalities, Williams and Cohen, have a similar bubbly personality that makes for a good watch anytime or day.
Cohen's enthusiastic support for the mother of one may look so trivial, but it is rather significant considering that Williams has been on an emotional rollercoaster of sorts.
News of Hunter's infidelity online added onto her ongoing battle with addiction and in fact, caused a relapse in her rehabilitation. Thankfully, the youthful beauty has had supportive words, much like Cohen's, coming from all sides.
Williams seems to have bounced back and aside from taking control of her entertainment business, she has gotten back into the dating game, sharing on her talk show that she has been “rediscovering my love of men.”
