Relationship Expert Warns Bindi Irwin that 'Getting Engaged at a Young Age' Can Be 'Tricky'
While speaking to Daily Mail Australia on Bindi and Chandler’s announcement and decision to tie the knot, Holly said:
“Getting engaged at a young age, while very commonplace in the years past, can be trickier to navigate nowadays.”
She further added that at the age of 21, which is Bindi’s age, many individuals are still working on discovering the kind of person they are and still making pivotal choices which will determine the rest of their lives. In his words:
“It can be a time of change and challenging ourselves,”
and according to Holly, the biggest task ahead for the couple is
“understanding that we continue to change and mature in our twenties.”
Holly, who is the founder of Matchsmith also expressed optimism for the couple’s relationship. She made mention that he thought Bindi was particularly capable of sustaining such a serious commitment as she had matured more than her peers due to early exposure to the spotlight.
“As a couple, they will grow and strengthen together rather than apart,”
she concluded.
Bindi Irwin made the engagement announcement on Wednesday, which was her birthday with an Instagram post which contained an image that showed off her engagement ring. The photo was accompanied by a caption which read:
“July 24th, 2019. On my birthday I said ‘yes’ and ‘forever’ to the love of my life”
and subsequently added an emotional statement which detailed how she met Chandler about six years ago and fell in love with him. Her conclusion in the caption stated:
“I’m so looking forwarding to spending our forever together as your wife. Here’s to a lifetime of friendship, purpose and unconditional love. – Now let’s get married already!”

It’s was a long-distance affair: At the beginning of their relationship, with Bindi living in Australia and Powell in America, keeping in touch regularly had a lot of hassles for the couple.
While speaking to Woman’s Day, Bindi disclosed they stayed connected by calling every day and seeing every two to three months.
