The mother-of-two grew up in Swansea, Wales until she hit fame in Hollywood and had to move to the United States.

On Wednesday, 24th, Catherine’s hometown decided to award her with the city’s “highest honor.” This award is reportedly given to “the city’s finest people” as a way of acknowledging their achievements.

The award was presented to the Welsh actress on the city’s 50th birthday; the award ceremony was part of the celebrations. Catherine didn’t attend the event alone as she had the company of her 74-year-old actor husband, Michael Douglas and her handsome 18-year-old son, Dylan. Their 16-year-old daughter, Carys, was absent.

The 49-year-old looked as stunning as ever in a pink off-the-shoulder dress, and she accessorized with gold and silver jewelry, a nude clutch, and nude heels. Catherine expressed her excitement in an Instagram post featuring her son and husband. She captioned the post:

“Yesterday, I was truly thrilled to receive the Freedom of the City of Swansea, my beloved hometown. Thank you Lord Mayor and the people of Swansea for this honor bestowed upon me.”

The family arrived in Swansea day before the event, and it is safe to say that they explored the city as they were pictured, in shorts, along the coast, in an Instagram post.

The “Ocean’s 12” actress was quite happy to be back home as perceived in her upload which she captioned, alongside two green heart emojis:

“Home in my beautiful country Wales.”

The Hollywood couple first met in 1998, got married in the year 2000 and also gave birth to their first child in August 2000.

This is not the first time the mother-of-two would be taking her family to any of her hometown’s functions as she did in March. Catherine, alongside her two kids, attended Wales’ National Day Gala in New York City.

The beautiful family, excluding Michael who was absent at the event, appeared in coordinating outfits and the two kids were pictured giving a speech.

At the event, Zeta-Jones received an honorary degree from The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Hopefully, the Wales native doesn’t stop getting honors like these.
