Kelly McGillis won’t be making an appearance in “Top Gun: Maverick” after not being offered to be part of the film’s sequel.

The former actress played the role of Maverick’s love interest in the 1986 original film, which will now be played by Jennifer Connelly.

“I’m old, and I’m fat, and I look age appropriate for what my age is, and that is not what that whole scene is about,” McGillis told Entertainment Tonight. “To me, I’d much rather feel absolutely secure in my skin and who and what I am at my age as opposed to placing a value on all that other stuff.”

McGills left the Hollywood scene years ago and fixated her priorities on other, more important things, including her two kids, Sonora, and Kelsey Tillman. At current, she resides in North Carolina and has been a “home person.”

"I think just my priorities in life changed," she continued. "I love acting, I love what I do, I love doing theater, but I don't know. To me, my relationships to other people became far more important than my relationship to fame."

Meanwhile, some of her original co-stars are still in the Hollywood business, including 56-year-old Tom Cruise who is reprising his role as LT Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell in the film.

During one of the filming days, Cruise was seen riding a luxurious motorcycle, looking as though he never aged.

The bike chosen by the actor costs about $30,000 with only 120 existing. Cruise chose a motor close to what the original looked like as he is equipped with proper knowledge on vehicles, being an avid biker himself.

Cruise is not the only original cast member who is set to reprise his role as his co-star, Val Kilmer, will be playing LT Tom 'Iceman' Kazanksy. Despite his recent battle with throat cancer, the actor is in high spirits and ready to work.
