Actress, activist, and former fashion model Mia Farrow has appeared in more than 50 films. But when she wasn't winning awards, she was a mother to fourteen children.

The daughter of director John Farrow and actress Maureen O'Sullivan, Mia Farrow followed in her parents' footsteps. She became a successful model and actress.

Besides her stellar career, she also focused on having a family. As the eldest of O'Sullivan's seven children, Mia wanted a big family of her own.

Her Biological Children:

She had four biological children of which three were with her former husband André Previn. Their children were twins Matthew and Sascha born in 1970 and Fletcher who was born four years later.

She had her fourth biological child, Ronan Farrow, with Woody Allen. He was born in 1987 and was Mia's final biological child.

Adopted Children:

Mia also went on to adopt a total of ten children. She first adopted Soon-Yi Previn in 1978. She then adopted Lark Previn in 1973 and Summer "Daisy" Previn in 1976.

In 1980, she adopted Moses Farrow. Between 1985 and 1995, she adopted Tam Farrow, Dylan Farrow (who accused Mia's ex Woody Allen of molesting her), Frankie-Minh Farrow, Thaddeus Farrow, Isaiah Farrow, and Kaeli-Shea "Quincy" Farrow.

Besides the ten children she successfully adopted, there were reports that she attempted to adopt four more children. However, these adoptions were never finalized.

Six of her children's names were changed at least once after they were born or adopted. Reports claim that two of her adopted children no longer speak to her, including Soon-Yi who is currently married to Mia's ex, Woody Allen.

Losing Three of Her Children:

Mia has since buried three of her fourteen children after they passed tragically. In March 2000, Tam passed away in a supposed accidental death.

She was just 21 and a spokeswoman for Mia revealed that she passed away from heart failure. However, in a recent blog post, her brother Moses Farrow denied the claims.

He wrote, "My mother would tell others that the drug overdose was accidental, saying that Tam, who was blind, didn’t know which pills she was taking. But Tam had both an ironclad memory and sense of spatial recognition. And, of course, blindness didn’t impair her ability to count."

According to him, his brother Thaddeus would have corroborated the story. However, Thaddeus had passed away before the post was written.

Thaddeus committed suicide in 2016. Then in 2008, Mia's daughter Lark Previn passed away from AIDs-related complications.

Earlier this month, Mia posted two pictures to her Instagram remembering Lark. While all her children do not agree on whether or not she was a good mother, Mia appears to remember her children fondly now that her nest is empty and they have all grown up.
