Brigitte Nielsen is absolutely in love with her family, including her husband, Mattia Dessi, and one-year-old daughter, Frida. After being the talk of the town for giving birth at age 54, Nielsen proves age defies nothing.

PREGNANT AT 54

While people may think having a baby at such an age may be exhausting, tiring, and dragging, the 55-year-old shared her utterly different experience. The model told TODAY about her “amazing” life.

“My pregnancy was so easy for me. Still, I thought, ‘Wow, at 54 you can expect to never get back to normal,’ But after I gave birth, I was back to feeling completely myself again after two and a half weeks!" she said.

DOCUMENTING EVERYDAY

Nielsen frequently documents her life and shares them on social media. Last June, her family celebrated Father’s Day and Frida’s first birthday, both of which she posted. Nielsen shared a photo of Dessi changing their little girl's nappies with the caption: “hubby on duty,” just in time for Father’s Day.

“Obviously she was much more impressed by the unicorn… Happy 1 year little Frida!” she captioned another post.

The photo showed the couple smiling at the camera, while little Frida turned her back to play with the makeshift unicorn. Based on the picture, the theme of her small party was unicorns in pink.

CRITICISMS

Nielsen also has four sons from her previous relationships, Raoul Meyer Jr., 23, Douglas Meyer, 25, Killian Gastineau, 28, and Julian Winding, 34. However, having another child with her current partner was something they longed for 11 years.

Having a child at 54 was a blessing for the model, and while some people were happy for her, others criticized her. Nielsen respected the opinions of those who did not agree with her procedures to have the child or her age to conceive, but she knew she was in charge of her life.
