Omar was married to the Kardashian star from 2009 to 2016, making frequent appearances on the family’s series, “Keeping Up With The Kardashian.” In 2015, news broke that the athlete overdosed at a Las Vegas brothel, shortly after he and Kardashian went separate ways.
The former NBA player put into words accounts of his life, including his marriage and battle with drug addiction, in a memoir called “Darkness to Light.” In his book, Omar revealed that he threatened to kill the “Keeping Up With The Kardashian” star. He wrote:
“Khloé came down and knocked on the door. I opened it suddenly and grabbed her forcefully by the shoulders, which frightened her. ‘What the [expletive] are you doing?’ I screamed, out of my mind. ‘You trying to embarrass me in front of my friends? I’ll [expletive] kill you! You don’t know what I’m capable of!’”
Kardashian initially filed for divorce in 2013 but put it on hold after his overdose. In 2016, the divorce was finalized after Omar pulled through and recovered. The reality star later entered into a relationship with another basketball player, Tristan Thompson.
