Viola Davis Is 'so Proud' of Daughter at Premiere of Her 1st Movie 'Angry Birds Movie 2'
Viola Davis gushed about her seven-year-old daughter while attending the premiere of her debut film,"Angry Birds Movie 2." The young girl also revealed the important lesson she learned from her mom.
Viola Davis attended the premiere of “Angry Birds Movie 2” as the mother of the real star of the night, her daughter, Genesis Tenon.
The actress’ seven-year-old is the voice to one of the film’s characters, Vivi and Viola couldn’t be prouder.
VIOLA ON GENESIS' FUTURE IN HOLLYWOOD
On the red carpet, ET caught up with the “How To Get Away With Murder” star who gushed about her daughter’s achievement. Apart from being “so proud” of Genesis, Viola spoke of her daughter’s future in Hollywood.
"I don't know if she wants to be an actress," she said. "I mean, the last time I checked she wanted to be a Navy Seal. I was really happy about that because I want her to be able to handle herself."
The 54-year-old actress who just learned of her Emmy nomination for her hit television show previously tweeted her delight over her daughter’s first film credit.
GENESIS ON WHAT SHE LEARNED FROM HER MOTHER
Genesis, who admitted feeling “great,” “nervous,” and “excited” for her debut film also shared a lesson she learned from her mother.
"[My mom told me] that no matter what people say, keep going,” she revealed.
Viola added, “I’m glad I said that." Her husband, Julian Tennon injected that he was even happier that their daughter remembered.

Viola may portray the tough woman on screen but when it comes to Genesis, her only child, she finds ways to make her happy.
Evidence of this is in photos on her Instagram featuring her happy daughter meeting her celebrity idols, Taylor Swift and Zendaya.
We can also deduce from Viola’s Instagram feeds that her family is her life. “My loves. My heart,” she captioned one of them. “This is my life,” she wrote to describe another.
It’s refreshing to see this side of the actress whose on-screen persona often registers darkness. Thanks to her family, there’s a lot of light in her world to combat that.
