Inside 50 Cent and His Baby Mama’s Controversial Relationship
Curtis James Jackson III, also known as 50 Cent, is one of the most famous rappers in the US. Unfortunately, the relationship he has with the mother of his first son is bitter, to say the least.
50 Cent’s girlfriend, Shaniqua Tompkins, gave birth to the ex-couple’s only son, Marquise Jackson, in October 1996. Sadly, their romance ended, and things got very rough between the two.
50 CENT AND SHANIQUA’S RELATIONSHIP
Shaniqua even sued the rapper for $50 million, claiming that he had previously told her that he would take care of her for life. A judge dismissed the suit, even labeling it as “an unfortunate tale of a love relationship gone sour.”
From that point on, the rapper and Shaniqua have been involved in several online arguments. Most of them took place on Instagram and Twitter, and most of those posts have been deleted already.
THEIR FEUD
One of the things that Shaniqua, 50 Cent, and Marquise have made clear, though, is that the rapper and his son have a very strained relationship.
In September 2016, the 44-year-old businessman posted a calendar counting down the days for Marquise’s 20th birthday – the day he would stop providing him child support.
Soon later, Marquise responded to his father’s post promising to make him proud and admitting that he hoped 50 Cent would “at least” remember to wish him a happy birthday, suggesting that he had forgotten about doing it in the past.
In May 2017, the rapper uploaded another photo referring to Marquise and his child support payments. In the post, which was deleted already, a young man appeared wearing a graduation cap.
For the caption, 50 Cent wrote: "Graduating from child support. Twenty years. To all my brothers, hang in there. LOL. Four months left, no more free ride. [Shaniqua] might want to get a job now. I paid, $1,369,400 to date. The last $30,600 ain't nothing."
FIGHTING THROUGH INSTAGRAM
As soon as the rapper’s baby mama saw his post, she took to social media to correct 50 Cent’s on the time he had left to pay and to remind the fractured relationship he and his son have.
"Actually, it is five months to go. You still checking for lil ole me? Calculate the hours you missed from your son."
In June 2018, Marquise uploaded a photo on Instagram making fun of the fact that 50 Cent was not around. In the image, the then-20-year-old man appeared smiling while sitting at a table with a plate in front of him. Next to him, there was an empty seat and another plate.
“Father’s Day lunch lol,” Marquise captioned.
MOST RECENT ARGUMENTS
Later that month, 50 Cent fired back at Shaniqua who allegedly said that Daphne Joy, the mother of Sire Jackson, the rapper’s second son, should have “swallowed” him.
In an Instagram post, Curtis James Jackson III shared a screenshot of the news and claimed: “Oh my goodness, why would a person say such a thing? Im just heart broken [sic] that this woman hasn’t moved on. LOL get the strap.”
Sadly, their feud seems far from over. In December 2018, Marquise uploaded a photo next to the son of Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff, known as 50 Cent’s long-time enemy as he was the suspected mastermind behind the rapper’s murder attempt in 2000.
In the comment section, 50 Cent wrote that if the two guys depicted in the photo “got hit by a bus, I wouldn’t have a bad day.” He quickly deleted his remarks, but Shaniqua saw it and responded right away.
First, she made clear that the fact that her ex-boyfriend had money didn’t mean anything. Then, she wrote:
“I find it humorous that a not so gangster rapper will go so hard and be so dilligent [sic] at going at his child and his child’s mother, but won’t keep that same energy for the [expletive] who put that hot lead up in his [expletive].”
At the moment, 50 Cent, whose net worth is estimated to be at $30 million, is still active in the music industry. He is currently working on his sixth studio album titled "Street King Immortal," which release date has not been revealed yet. Apart from that, he is working on the TV show "Power."
