Kelly Ripa’s Fans Relieved That Husband Mark Consuelos Shaved off His Mustache after Seeing a Throwback Photo

Last Thursday, television host Kelly Ripa took to Instagram to share a throwback image of herself and her husband. In the image, Ripa’s husband had a mustache.

“Live! With Kelly and Ryan” host, Kelly Ripa, 48, shared an old photo of her husband, Mark Consuelos, on Instagram. The image revealed that the “Riverdale” actor had a mustache at the time.

Ripa captioned the post joking: “#tbt 2012 the year of the mustache (his. Mine not pictured).” In the image, Consuelos sported a black mustache.

Some fans responded to the post sharing how relieved they were that the actor had since chosen to shave the mustache. With three facepalm emojis, one fan wrote: “Glad he shaved it…”

Another fan added: “Great pic! But glad your hubby is clean shaven now.” Someone else simply wrote: “Better without!”

Ripa and Consuelos met in 1995 on a screen test for “All My Children.” At the time, Consuelos was reading for the part of Mateo Santos, who would eventually become Ripa’s character, Hayley Vaughan’s, onscreen love.

After meeting on the set of the soap opera, the pair started dating. During a 2014 interview Consuelos recalled: “I thought she was adorable, hot and sexy and all that stuff.”

The actor confessed that he wasn’t too focused on dating her because he thought he didn’t have “a chance with her.” However, after the pair got to “know each other” they realized they were each other’s “soulmates.”

In 1996, the couple went on a pizza and wine date night and Consuelos proposed marriage. It didn’t take long for the two stars to elope to Las Vegas.

A few weeks before, Ripa had bought a $199 dress which was just hanging in her closet waiting for the perfect occasion. She took it and chose to not buy a wedding dress.

A year after their marriage Ripa and Consuelos welcomed their first child, Michael. They’ve since welcomed two more children: daughter Lola and another son Joaquin.

Speaking recently about her daughter on the “Jerry O’” show, Ripa revealed to Jerry O'Connell that the 18-year-old altered her high school prom dress’ neckline behind their backs.

The television host joked: "That's the prom dress that we had made and she had altered behind our back. On Instagram, Ripa also shared two images of Lola in the gown.
