Hoda Kotb Announces She's Coming Back to 'Today' after a Lengthy Maternity Leave
Popular TV personality, Hoda Kotb took to social media to reveal when she's returning to work after her maternity leave.
Hoda Kotb is an American broadcast journalist and television personality. She is popularly known as the co-anchor for the popular NBC morning program "Today."
Recently Kotb took to her Instagram page to drop a clip which discloses details of her return to the TV show and also to open up about how much she missed the show's cast and crew.
The 55-year-old co-anchor went on maternity leave mid-April after the adoption of her daughter Hope Catherine.
The video featured Hoda looking happy and healthy as she announced that she would be returning from her maternity leave a day after Labor Day. She added that although this summer with the girls is the best one she's had in her life, she also looks forward to returning to work.
Having said all she wanted to in the clip, she kept the caption of the post short and simple:
"Hiiiiii!!! So excited to come back!" she wrote, adding three heart emoji.
The announcement got her fans excited in the comments section as they commented on how much she was missed while she was away from the show.
"You have been missed," a fan wrote. "So excited your coming back, missed you so much. Love watching you," Another stated.
In an interview the proud mother of two had with PEOPLE; she opens up about how Hope, the latest addition to the family is doing. According to PEOPLE, Kotb says little Hope keeps "following things with her eyes" and grabbing any object within her reach.
She says Hope and her older sister Haley have kindled a beautiful relationship with each other as she keeps reaching over for her and each time she does Haley graces her with a kiss.
Kotb also mentioned Haley's gradual mastery of the art of speaking complete sentences has her doing it non-stop. Though on leave, Kotb managed to share her pleasant experience with her fellow hosts on the show.
"There hasn't been a second I haven't loved—even the worst parts of it. I've loved it all," she stated in a call-in on the show. She then went ahead to tell them how much she missed them.
"I always knew how awesome our Today show family is, but you don't really realize it until you step away for a minute and then you think to yourself, 'Wow! I get to go back to that.''
Kotb and her longtime lover, Joel Schiffman adopted Haley earlier in 2017, and though he works in New York City, he makes sure to travel down on the weekends to spend family time with Kotb and the girls.
