The D23 Expo 2019 revealed some of the biggest projects the Disney group has in store for its viewers, which includes the movies slated by Marvel Studios.
One of the highly-anticipated sequels for Marvel, "Black Panther 2," was given a release date and its director was confirmed in the process.
At the D23 Expo, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige happily announced that "Black Panther 2" is set to be released on May 6, 2022.
The sequel follows the critically acclaimed award-winning movie "Black Panther," starring the likes of Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, and Angela Bassett.
The hit movie was directed by Ryan Coogler, and it comes with no surprise that he is coming back to direct the sequel for Marvel.
"Black Panther" is an award-winning movie that definitely made waves both in the entertainment industry and to its viewers alike. It especially made history for Marvel, winning its first-ever Academy Awards.
The awards included "Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures (Original Score)," "Best Achievement in Costume Design," and "Best Achievement in Production Design."
They were also nominated for "Best Original Song," "Best Motion Picture of the Year," "Best Achievement in Sound Editing," and "Best Achievement in Sound Mixing."
The film was also nominated three times at the Golden Globe Awards, with nominations for "Best Motion Picture," "Best Original Score," and "Best Original Song."
Their most recent award, however, came in the Screen Actors Guild Awards, where they won the "Best Ensemble Cast Award in a Motion Picture," which is the ceremony's highest award that can be compared to a "Best Motion Picture" award.
With "Black Panther" being Marvel's most decorated movie, there's no doubt "Black Panther 2" will also be a huge hit.
