Miley Cyrus Spotted Holding Hands with Kaitlynn Carter after Liam Hemsworth Filed for Divorce

Famous singer, Miley Cyrus appears in public holding hands with Kaitlynn Carter after her split from husband, Liam Hemsworth.

American singer and songwriter, Miley Cyrus, and Kaitlynn Carter were recently pictured holding hands at the VMAs after-party.

30-year-old reality TV star Kaitlynn Carter was reportedly there to support her Beau, Miley, as she delivered a performance of her song "Slide Away."

Her divorce from the famous movie star, Liam Hemsworth reportedly inspired the song. The couple was spotted emerging from a large black car as they walked into the event.

In a protective gesture, Miley seized her lover's hand as they meandered through the crowd. The "Hannah Montana" actress looked sleek in a large cowboy hat, white crop top, and blue jeans.

She topped the look off with a Fendi jacket. Carter went for a more casual look of a houndstooth jacket, a white t-shirt, and jeans.

The song Miley performed at the awards is popularly regarded as a break-up song as it features lyrics which hint at the end of her relationship with Hemsworth.

Her appearance at the VMAs is reportedly her first major appearance since she revealed the demise of her eight-month marriage with Hemsworth.

While on stage, Miley traded her cowboy get up for a black mini dress and makeup as she emotionally gave a heartbreaking rendition of her latest single "Slide Away."

Just before she hit the stage, Miley and Carter were spotted by an eye-witness who claimed the couple had been reportedly sharing intimate moments before the cameras arrived.

Miley's publicist announced news of the split in a statement:

"Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what's best while they both focus on themselves and careers," the statement began.

"They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy," it finished.

Shortly before the statement made rounds on the internet, Miley was spotted kissing Carter during their vacation in Lake Como.

The gorgeous lovers were pictured engaged in activities that left no doubt as to the sort of relationship they have between them.

Carter was previously in a relationship with Brody Jenner until their recent divorce. In an interview with ET, a source close to the couple revealed that the couple never officially tied the knot.

Miley's separation from Hemsworth comes after he filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences. Hemsworth and Miley got married last December in a private ceremony in their home in Nashville, Tennessee.
