Nikki Bella's Boyfriend Artem Chigvintsev Reacts to Being Cut from DWTS Season 28 Cast

American pro wrestler Nikki Bella’s boyfriend, Artem Chifvintsev, expressed how he was devasted when he found out that he hadn’t been cast in the new season of “Dancing with the Stars.”

When the full cast of “DWTS” was officially announced on “Good Morning America,” pro dancer Artem Chifvintsev was devastated because his name was not on the list.

Chifvintsev’s unexpected departure from the show left him in utter shock. On August 21, the dancer addressed the news through an emotional Instagram post.

“I just want to say how sad it makes me feel not to be part of Season 28 of DWTS,” he wrote in his Instagram message. “It’s been 10 years since I have joined this absolutely, one of a kind, incredible show! It has given me recognition as a dancer, choreographer and a teacher. I have had so many beautiful memories with all of my celebrity partners! They all have shaped me into the person that I am today.”

A “PUNCH IN THE STOMACH”

On August 16, Chifvintsev got a call that said he wouldn’t be a part of the “DWTS” cast for the upcoming season. He was gutted since the news was totally unexpected.

In his girlfriend Nikki Bella’s podcast “The Bellas,” Chifvintsev opened up about how it felt after he was cut out before the cast of the 28th season of “DWTS” was announced.

“I don’t know where to begin to be honest with you. ‘Obviously, it was a massive shock. Having those calls is never, never, never fun,” he said.

CHIFVINSTEV WASN’T THE ONLY ONE WHO BID FAREWELL TO “DWTS”

According to the pro dancer, he was 99% sure that he would be cast in the new season.

“There was never really a thought in my mind that I [wasn’t] going to be doing it. … But getting this call and [hearing], ‘There’s going to be no involvement in the show from now on’ — it’s like going through a breakup after 10 years,” he said.

Aside from Chifvintsev, pro dancer Sharna Burgess will not be returning to the “DWTS” ballroom. They were both “shocked” upon hearing the news.

THE END OF AN ERA

While Burgess had been a part of “DWTS” for almost 9 years, Chifvintsev had been on the show for 10 years. Both the dancers were immensely loved by the fans who were upset after the news of their departure broke out.

Thousands of fans took to the comment section of the dancers’ Instagram posts to express their grief upon their departure.

It is pretty evident that fans will dearly miss Burgess and Chifvintsev in “DWTS.”
