Patti LaBelle's granddaughter, Leyla, is "Sugar and Spice," and she just turned 2. The singer celebrated the little girl with a celebratory post on social media.
I never dreamed of this. I was a little girl from West Philly. To go from shy Patti to Patti LaBelle Way is incredible.
Patti LaBelle is someone who's achieved a lot in her life, and the crown of those achievements are her granddaughters, Gia, and Leyla. The latter just turned two, and the proud grandmother marked the day with a celebratory post on Instagram.
The post featured sweet photos of the little girl and her grandmother sharing a cute kiss, as well as snaps with Gia, and their mom. In the accompanying caption, the iconic singer wrote,
"Everyone, please join me in wishing my sweet granddaughter, Leyla, who's sugar and spice, and everything nice a very happy 2nd birthday. Happy birthday, Leyla."
LaBelle's followers obliged her with many celebratory wishes, with one person writing,
"Happy birthday. You come from royalty. God bless you," before adding, "I love you, Patti."
The Hollywood Walk of Fame star recipient is a doting grandmother and adores her granddaughters. She once told People Now that they are the only ones who can fool her, and get away with it.

The girls who are the daughters of LaBelle's son, Zuri Edwards, also get away with playing with their grandmother's jewelry. In the legendary soul singer's words,
"Any day [Gia and Leyla] come to my house, they take my jewelry, they play with everything, they break things, and I thought I would have a fit. I don't mind; I let them get away with things that I would never let anybody get away it."
Giving the sisters leeway to play with her things has led to the little girls' developing a love for show business like LaBelle. Gia, who already has a social media presence loves to sing her grandma's song with Leyla, and in August, the singer told People that it's getting difficult to get them off a stage once they get on it.
LaBelle has been on the stage for over fifty years, which has earned her several awards. In July, she got honored with a street named after her in Philly, and while expressing her thanks, the Grammy winner said she never dreamt of it.

The singer is happy with the life she has; her granddaughters represent the icing on her cake, and life could not be more perfect.
