I never dreamed of this. I was a little girl from West Philly. To go from shy Patti to Patti LaBelle Way is incredible.

The girls who are the daughters of LaBelle's son, Zuri Edwards, also get away with playing with their grandmother's jewelry. In the legendary soul singer's words,

"Any day [Gia and Leyla] come to my house, they take my jewelry, they play with everything, they break things, and I thought I would have a fit. I don't mind; I let them get away with things that I would never let anybody get away it."

GIA AND LEYLA ARE FOLLOWING LABELLE'S FOOTSTEPS

Giving the sisters leeway to play with her things has led to the little girls' developing a love for show business like LaBelle. Gia, who already has a social media presence loves to sing her grandma's song with Leyla, and in August, the singer told People that it's getting difficult to get them off a stage once they get on it.

LaBelle has been on the stage for over fifty years, which has earned her several awards. In July, she got honored with a street named after her in Philly, and while expressing her thanks, the Grammy winner said she never dreamt of it.

"I never dreamed of this. I was a little girl from West Philly. To go from shy Patti to Patti LaBelle Way is incredible."

The singer is happy with the life she has; her granddaughters represent the icing on her cake, and life could not be more perfect.
