Memorial Service for Murdered Alabama Teenager Aniah Blanchard Gathers Dozens of People

Friends, Family, and sympathizers recently gathered in a memorial service where they paid tribute to the late Aniah Blanchard.

Aniah Blanchard, whose passing was nothing but tragic, was remembered in a memorial service in the state of Alabama.

In attendance were friends and family who took to social media share their fond memories of the late teenager.

Her mom, Angela Haley-Harris shared a series of Aniah's photos on Facebook and encouraged people to come around to celebrate the life of her late daughter.

A close friend of the family, who attended the memorial service wrote in a post:

"Today made history for me and many others; today, I did the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I said my last goodbye to my vent, my go-to, and my literal rock. Aniah Blanchard, I love you and miss you more and more every day. You made the biggest impact on my life and so many other people's lives. I’ll forever cherish your memory. And remember your beautiful smile. This is goodbye, but not forever. I will see you again one day."

Other Facebook users paid their last respects to the deceased as they recalled the pleasant memories they have of Blanchard.

to THE GRIO, Aniah Blanchard was declared missing back in October, and after authorities carried out a thorough search, her body was found in November.

Ibrahim Yazeed has been arrested in connection to her death and charged with the abduction of murder.

Blanchard's step-dad Walt Harris was the driving force behind the justice brought to the offender. ABC NEWS reports that the UFC fighter who showed that he was greatly affected by her passing took to Instagram to share his grief.

Harris posted a throwback photo of himself and Aniah while he relayed his pain in the caption. He wrote:

"My sweet baby girl... I just wanna thank you for helping me change my life for the better. For teaching me how to be a man and a better father! For being my biggest fan win, lose, or draw! For always knowing what to say to put a smile on my face and lift me up when I was down and wanted to give up."

The news outlet also gathered that two other people, Antwain Fisher and David Johnson Jr. Have also been indicted in connection to Blanchard's murder.
