Method Man will be joining "Power" to play the role of ambitious and savvy attorney Davis Maclean in the Courtney Kemp created series.
The Davis Maclean character which will be played by Method Man is a complex man with secrets and one who needs to win regularly. The Starz channel described the character as:
"brilliant, ethically challenged, and with a few secrets of his own, Davis is drawn into our world on multiple axes, a world riddled with murder and drugs, where the only thing he's really addicted to is winning."
"Power" is expected to have many spin-offs, and this "Power" Book II: Ghost," was first officially unveiled at the summer TCA last July, and is currently being produced in New York. The spin-off is expected to launch later in the year, but no specific date has been set.
There are also indications that some key cast members of the original show will be in the spin-off. The spin-off is believed to follow the events that happened in the sixth and final season of the show.
This is not the first time Mary J.Blige and Method Man will be working together. Although their major collaboration has been on songs, the duo always delivers stellar performances when working together.
The original show is going to be concluded on February 9 by providing answers to who shot Omari Hardwick's character, Ghost.
The creator of the show Courtney Kemp has alluded that the follow-up will "continue the journey of some of "Power's most controversial characters," as well as introduce new characters, including the one played by Blige and Method Man.
It is expected that there will be more than just one spin-off as there have been talks of about three more.
The forthcoming series serves as one of several developing installments in the "Power" franchise as part of Kemp's overall deal with the network parent company, Lionsgate.
This is not the first time Mary J.Blige and Method Man will be working together. Although their major collaboration has been on songs, the duo always delivers stellar performances when working together.
In 2003 when Mary and Method Man got together, the result was the award-winning song "You're All I Need." The duo won the Grammy award for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group.
This is also not the first time Method Man will be acting in a movie. The rapper is known for the beautiful deliverance of his lines and portrayal of his characters in films he has been a part of.
Some of those movies include but are not limited to HBO's "The Deuce," "The Last O.G," and "Blue Bloods," among others.
Although one does not know what to expect with the spin-off, it is exciting to see Mary J. Blige and Method Man work together again to deliver the usual stellar performance they are known for.
