A BIT TOO YOUNG

He even went as far as to say that there must be something wrong with his own sister if she thinks that it is fine to be dating someone so young.
Naturally, the OP's sister did not approve of his opinion. Moreover, she retorted saying that the OP was being selfish and should instead be happy for his sister.

A very common voice was that the age gap was unacceptable because the people in the relationship come from very different walks of life.
The guy in the relationship was just 19, meaning he was freshly out of high-school however the OP's sister is a 30-year-old is likely to be a lot more mature and financially stable.
DATING SOMEONE BARELY LEGAL
According to one user, the situation would look considerably worse if the genders were reversed. The user claimed that a man in his 30's being in a relationship with a girl, who is barely of legal age, makes him look like a sexual predator.
In the final lines of his argument, the user claimed that the same rules apply to females as well, and just because his sister is in the clear, legally, her actions might still generate some negative reactions amongst the people around her.
Others reached the conclusion that the situation would be a lot easier if the guy was just a bit older. Their primary argument was that the teenager still had a lot to discover about himself and the world around him.
NOT THE FIRST TIME
This was most certainly not the first time this kind of debate has graced the Reddit feeds either. A few months ago, a 23-year-old female also had concerns regarding the age gap between herself and her boyfriend, 30.
She admitted that the difference in age does bother her somewhat, but then again they got along so well that she could almost shrug off the age fact.
However, when a friend questioned her about the age gap and she replied honestly, her boyfriend overheard and got upset. When she asked the Redditors if she was wrong to admit amidst her friends, the feeds of comments were not kind to her.
