Alicia Keys Goes Undercover as a Lyft Driver and Channels Her Alter Ego Laura

Alicia Keys partners with Lyft to surprise unsuspecting passengers with her "Alter Ego Laura" as a Lyft driver in this hillarious video.

Imagine it is your regular day, you are going about your thing, and you decide to get around to some places. You choose to make use of a car-hailing app called Lyft, and you get the lift of your life by meeting a celebrity.

Some lucky residents of Los Angeles were able to get that lift with sensational Grammy Award winner, Alicia Keys.

SO UNDERCOVER

The disbelief and excitement on their faces when Alicia came out from being undercover was hilarious. Alicia Keys teamed up with Lyft to give unsuspecting passengers a big surprise.

The "Girl on Fire" singer who dressed in a black and red checkered flannel shirt with baseball cap and sunshades looked so undercover. Taking to Twitter, Alicia said:

"My alter ego 'Laura' gave some @Lyft rides for a special edition of Undercover @Lyft! Check out the #Underdog herself behind the wheel in LA."

HINTS! HINTS!! HINTS!!

Alicia, who went by the name "Laura" was friendly to passengers and tried to engage them in conversations about themselves and their personal life. While some passengers were not too chatty, others were ok about opening up.

The highlight of the video was when Alicia and a passenger decided to create some magic by singing.

As Keys engaged in conversations with the passengers, she tried to give off hints about who she was. The singer referred to some of her hit songs such as "No One," "Girl on Fire," and "New York."

SINGING SENSATION

Despite all the hints dropped, some of the unsuspecting passengers could not guess who she was. While some passengers were quick to catch on with one saying: "Alicia? Just say it."

Most of the riders had fun with the singer. One opened up that he used to be in an acapella group back in college, the customer then sang a line of "Ave Maria." Another passenger who caught on to Alicia's disguise said:

"I rock with you heavy, especially because I'm nonbinary, when you use your platform to say something positive, I felt that heavy."

LYFT PARTNERSHIP

The joy and disbelief on the passengers' faces were enough satisfaction for the singing sensation who jumped for joy at the end of the video.

Alicia Keys is a partner with Lyft spotlights LyftUp, a new initiative with a ride-sharing app that helps expand transportation access to those who need it most.

She is not the only celebrity who has partnered with the company. Stars such as Future and LeBron James have also been in partnership with Lyft to give back to the community.

The highlight of the video was when Alicia and a passenger decided to create some magic by singing. The rider went on to drop some fantastic rap bars while the mom of two played her signature piano. She talked about the experience by saying:

"Lyft is all about connecting communities, and I loved getting the opportunity to connect with people in such a real and intimate way as a 'driver.' I've never had an experience like this! It lit me up!"
