Donnie Wahlberg from 'Blue Bloods' Reveals He's Proud of Wife Jenny McCarthy's Gig as a Judge on 'The Masked Singer'
'Blue Bloods' star, Donnie Wahlberg expressed how proud he is that his wife, Jenny McCarthy landed the role as a judge on 'The Masked Singer.'
Donnie admitted that when the idea of doing an American version of the show was first mentioned, many people were skeptical about its success and how it would be received by viewers.
However, he said as soon as he watched the original version of the show, he knew that it would be a hit. Gushing over his wife's role as a judge he said:
"You know what, Jenny's such a hard worker and a lot of people don't know how hard she works and how much effort she puts into whatever she does."
"For me, to see her be on a successful show, it's very rewarding as her partner and as her husband to see her succeeding and doing well."
He revealed that Jenny had been asking him to be part in the show since its first season. However, Donnie said he'd prefer to make an appearance as a guest and not a contestant.
Still keeping his fans hopeful, he didn't completely rule out the idea of coming on the show and admitted that he is open to being on it in some sort of capacity.
In an interview with Bustle at SiriusXM's "Dial Up the Moment" launch, Jenny made her guess as to why she thinks celebrities come on the show, she said:
"It's because they want to trick their kids who watched the first season. So they take off their mask and they go…I bet you didn't know it was me.' And it's so sweet because they're playing the game with their kids."
He joked that weeks after the offer, Jenny was very suspicious when she couldn't get hold of him and she suspected that he was one of the performers.
