Carrie Underwood Reveals Suffering Insomnia While Pregnant with Youngest Child as She Discusses Her New Book
Carrie Underwood was one of the country singers who recently took part in the Country Radio Seminar event. During the seminar, Underwood revealed how she’d suffered from insomnia while pregnant with her youngest child.
The country musician took part in the Q&A at the Country Radio Seminar event. Speaking about her pregnancy with Jacob, now 13-months-old, the “Jesus, Take the Wheel” vocalist confessed: “At the time I was writing a lot of the book, I was pregnant, and I had the worst pregnancy insomnia.”
Despite the inconvenience of insomnia, Underwood shared that there was a “blessing” to it. The star revealed how not being able to sleep allowed her to write most of her book, “Find Your Path: Honor Your Body, Fuel Your Soul, and Get Strong.”
Carrie needed to adjust after Jake
The former “American Idol” winner explained how she would stay up writing from two in the morning up until six. Underwood previously shared how she’d "bounced back fast" after having her first son, Isaiah, 4.
However, with Jacob, it was a different story altogether. She explained: “And then with Jake, it was like my body took a minute to get back to me.”
Jacob’s bad sleeping patterns
Little Jacob was born in January 2019. After her challenging pregnancy, Underwood noted how the toddler was "an easy baby" but that he "didn't get the memo" about sleeping at night.

The “Southbound” singer is married to her husband Mike Fisher who is a former professional hockey player. Underwood’s first book will feature her secrets to finding the perfect balance in life.
