BLACK AND WHITE

The sheer white bathing suit Sanaa wore while on vacation in Nobu Los Cabos gives us every reason to look forward to her upcoming project. Sanaa bared her figure as she donned her one-shoulder swimwear with sheer diagonal stripes running through her mid-section.

“Black woman. White bathing suit. Cabo,” she wrote to caption one of her stunning photos. In separate posts, she wears a beige ruffled wrap, enough to cover part of her arms but still revealing her enviable figure.

Sanaa is best known for her role opposite Omar Epps in “Love and Basketball.” However, she once spoke of how miserable she was while filming the movie.

THE NEW CATWOMAN

Sanaa is set to be the voice of Catwoman in the second season of DC’s “Harley Quinn.” While we won’t get too see her in a catsuit in the animated series, we look forward to the actress giving new life to her role as Selina Kyle.

She joins other Black actresses who previously portrayed the role. This includes pioneer Eartha Kitt in 1967, Halle Berry in 2004, and Zoe Kravitz soon in “The Batman” which stars Robert Pattinson as the caped crusader for the first time.

ON HER PAINFUL BEGINNINGS AS AN ACTRESS

Sanaa is best known for her role opposite Omar Epps in “Love and Basketball.” However, she once spoke of how miserable she was while filming the movie.

“There wasn’t a lot of joy and there wasn’t a lot of trust in me,” she told CBS Local’s DJ Sixsmith last year. She said she was a nobody at the time and felt like she was just a person they hired because they couldn’t find anyone else for the part.

The role required a basketball player who could act. She was an actress who didn’t play basketball. “There was a lot of crying behind the scenes for me,” she admitted.

SANAA AND SELF-LOVE

Today, Sanaa is a confident woman who thrives in her career as well as her personal life. Last year the “Nappily Ever After” star spoke about prioritizing herself when she graced Culture Con. She told journalist Taylor Rooks that although she believes in love, she’s more focused on loving herself more.

“The truth is when you start loving yourself, you attract a better quality of situation,” she reasoned. “I want somebody who wants me shining; who is not scared of that; who will be there after the days over and actually cares about what’s going on in my life.”

For now, Sanaa is single but doesn’t discount dating. But unless she finds someone short of amazing, she will remain her "free-spirit self," she says.
