For a couple of weeks, the widespread virus has maintained the number one news spot on the headlines. With more people being infected globally, and a record of thousands of deaths, the disease is worth sending panic to the hearts of many.

Health agencies have tried to enlighten the public on the various precautions that can help combat the spread of the virus.

Here's a first-hand story of a woman that fell prey to the virus. 90-year-old Geneva Woods is on the recovery train after contracting Coronavirus, but she was hospitalized long before the virus was detected. According to to a family member:

"Just when my mom beat one thing, another thing rooted her away."

After the Harborview Medical Centre diagnosed Geneva on March 5, her family all thought it was a death sentence considering the news from local news outlets.

Notwithstanding, they supported the great great grandmother of three, great grandmother of 12, grandmother of 11, and mother of four.

Unlike Geneva, some other victims were not as lucky as her.

Different family members, from her grandson and his wife to her daughter, visited Geneva during her confinement. At some point, the contact was restricted and thus made the family devastated. Her daughter, Cami called the news "cruel," she said:

"I understand why they need to do this, but that doesn't change how cruel this is to the patients and the families. I was a mess."

However, Geneva has shown to be a fighter, and her daughter described her as a "tough ol' Texas Coot" who would "give the middle finger to a killer virus."

A few days ago, she was said to be recovering as her oxygen mask is now off, the doctors stated that she will be observed for about three more days since her symptoms are now mild.

Unlike Geneva, some other victims were not as lucky. One is a New Jersey family, including a mother, Grace, along with two of her kids, Rita Jackson and Carmine Fusco.

About 24 other family members of Grace are quarantined, with four of them testing positive to Coronavirus. A source mentioned that the family did not have the opportunity to mourn their lost ones.

It is imperative that the necessary precautions, such as maintaining strict hygiene and social distancing, is observed to prevent the spread of the virus.
