Carson Daly Shares Story behind Newborn Daughter Goldie's Name

Carson Daly unveiled the story behind his new baby's name after he and his wife, Siri, welcomed her on March 26.

When Carson Daly announced the arrival of his baby girl, Goldie Patricia Daly, the last thing on anybody's mind was how he had come about her name.

According to Today, the TV host and radio personality spilled the beans on the story behind the baby's name when he said:

"In this time that we've had quarantined, a lot of time on our hands with our families, I just got the results of my Ancestry DNA kit that my sister got me for Christmas..."

The kit confirmed that Carson had 98% of "Irishness" in him which prompted him to search for Irish names on the internet. However, it wasn't until St. Patrick's Day that he stumbled upon the name "Goldie," which he thought had a certain magical ring to it.

Carson expressed how excited he and Siri were to have welcomed their child with the help of the "incredibly brave and selfless medical staff" at the hospital

Although he and his wife, Siri Pinter, already had a list of baby names, nothing struck him as much as "Goldie." So, one day, he asked his wife how she felt about the name "Goldie Patricia", and just like that, they had a name for their fourth child together.

Closer Weekly pointed out that when Carson shared the news of Goldie's birth, his followers and fans attempted to make a connection between his family and the name "Goldie."

They, however, didn't experience any difficulties with her middle name "Patricia" as it appeared that the producer was paying his respects to his mother, Pattie Daly Caruso, who passed away in 2017.

Carson's decision was made even more heartwarming, considering that his little girl was born just two days before what would have been his late mother's birthday.

The radio host, who is already father to 11-year-old Jackson, 7-year-old Etta, and 5-year-old London, announced the birth of Goldie in an Instagram post as divulged by Today.

In the post, Carson expressed how excited he and Siri were to have welcomed their child with the help of the "incredibly brave and selfless medical staff" at the hospital, especially during the ongoing novel coronavirus pandemic.
