, Angela had a difficult and emotional journey before becoming a mother.
She and her husband Scott Whitehurst had spent almost 21 out their 23 years of their marriage trying to conceive a child until they finally decided to adopt.
Adoption was an alternative that Angela admitted they weren't too keen on but had no choice. She revealed that they were hit with a roadblock after getting in touch with an agency.
She and Scott were warned by the agency that their age could make adoption almost an impossibility.
However, with patience and perseverance, they welcomed Robbie into their home in 2018. On her first Mother's Day, Angela shared pictures of the touching moment the couple met their son she gushed:

In an interview with NBC News, Angela became a little emotional when she reflected on her successful career as an actress.
Starting in theatre, she lost out her audition for Tyler Perry's "Mr. Brown," but was called back years later for her breakthrough role in "The Haves and the Have Nots."
