Kara announces son’s death
On Tuesday, Kara, 32, announced that the newborn had tragically passed on due to complications after delivery. She revealed to her followers that during the course of her son's birth, he had experienced shoulder dystocia and a compressed umbilical cord.
What is shoulder dystocia
According to the “March of Dimes,” shoulder dystocia is “a birth injury that happens when one or both of a baby’s shoulders get stuck inside the mother’s pelvis during labor.” The condition is an “unpreventable and unpredictable obstetric emergency,” according to the National Library of Medicine.

Kara and her husband, Kyle Bosworth, 33, have since chosen to donate their baby’s organs. The former reality star and her husband also share a daughter, Decker, 4.
