Tyler Perry of 'The Oval' Calls 5-Year-Old Son Aman His Greatest Joy

Tyler Perry has accomplished a lot of things in life, but he once revealed that his 5-year-old son is his "greatest joy."

At 50-years-old, Tyler Perry has had quite a lot of achievements that span from filmmaking to philanthropic work, to opening his very own studio compound. However, when asked what brings him the most joy in life, he reveals that it's his son, Aman Tyler.

HIS SON IS HIS GREATEST JOY

Despite all the chaos that comes from running a household with a growing child in it, Tyler reveals that even the things that drive him crazy about his son bring him joy. He narrates the typical scenario in their home when their little curious boy would ask them the most random questions, and how it amuses him.

"It's just joy. Just watching him learn and discover and yeah, it's wonderful."

DISCIPLINING HIS SON

Perry, who grew up in an abusive household, has tried to be the best father figure to his son. Recently, he had to discipline Aman after he was throwing a fit at his nanny. The whole ordeal left Perry in tears.

While writing, Tyler could hear Aman getting angry at his nanny. He decided to walk in and speak to his son about how disappointed he was, and how he should not behave that way. Ultimately, the 5-year-old apologized to his nanny, to his mom, and to his dad.

REMEMBERING HIS DIFFICULT CHILDHOOD

At that point, Perry rushed out of the room because he ended up crying. When his girlfriend went out to comfort him, he revealed that nobody had ever spoken to him that way as a child, or even as a grownup and he ended up feeling a certain way about it.

Tyler and Gelila have been in a relationship for quite a while now, except he doesn't like talking about it too much.

HIS DECISION TO STAY UNMARRIED

Recently, the "Madea" creator also opened up about remaining unmarried in T.I.'s podcast "expeditiously," and his decision to keep his private life out of the public eye.
