Cedric the Entertainer from 'Barbershop' Is 56 Now & Has 3 Kids and a Grandkid

Cedric “The Entertainer” is a successful actor, comedian, host, and philanthropist who is also a proud father to three kids and one grandchild.

Cedric “The Entertainer” was born Cedric Antonio Kyles in Jefferson City, Missouri, and began his acting career in 1995.

Through the years, he has established his name in the industry and starred in box office hits such as “Johnson Family Vacation.”

PERSONAL LIFE

Cedric, although successful, takes pride in being the head of his family, including his wife Lorna Wells, and kids Croix and Lucky Rose. The actor also has a daughter named Tiara from a previous partner.

His three kids sometimes appear on his Instagram account, along with his only grandchild whom he calls Cookie. Last Father’s Day, the “Barbershop” star posted a photo of his “blessings” smiling next to each other.

Cedric, who attended Berkeley High School in St. Louis, never forgot his roots as he gives back by sponsoring a graduating senior each year.

The actor is also a philanthropist who founded the organization Cedric the Entertainer Charitable Foundation Inc.

Last year, Cedric announced that a sequel of the 2004 comedy “Johnson Family Vacation” was in the works, starring himself and Devon Franklin.

CEDRIC’S CAREER

Before he launched his comedy career in Hollywood, Cedric worked as an insurance adjuster at State Farm Insurance and a substitute high school teacher.

In 1995, he made his on-stage debut in “The Cowardly Lion” before playing Cedric Robinson on “The Steve Harvey Show.”

Cedric’s career soared as he began doing several films, including “Dr. Dolittle 2,” “Big Momma’s House,” “Barbershop,” “Barbershop 2,” “Man of the House,” and the “Madagascar” trilogy, among many others.

“I’ve always been inspired by those comedians that can do great dramatic work,” the entertainer said. Among those he looks up to are Richard Pryor, Robin Williams, and Billy Crystal.

“JOHNSON FAMILY VACATION” SEQUEL

Last year, Cedric announced that a sequel of the 2004 comedy “Johnson Family Vacation” was in the works, starring himself and Devon Franklin. He said:

“Thanks to a great story brought to us by the dynamic writer @michaelelliot215 we believe your gonna laugh, love, and truly appreciate what we are calling #Johnsonfamilycelebration.”

Among the notable people behind the film are Eric Rhone and Michael Elliot. Rhone was a co-producer of the original movie, together with Wendy Park, Todd Jones, Andre Sugerman, and Cedric.

“Johnson Family Vacation” grossed $31.5 million in the box office over 15 years ago, which sets high expectations for its second installment.
