In a recent interview with Danny Pellegrino, Katie Couric opened up on her thoughts regarding "The Morning Show," where Jennifer Aniston plays a character based on her.
Many have waited for Katie Couric to give her thoughts and opinions on "The Morning Show," where Jennifer Aniston plays the character, Alex Levy.
The series which follows the life of Alex Levy is said to be based on Katie Couric's time on the "Today" show. It features other stars like Resse Witherspoon and Steve Carrel and is based on Brian Stelter's book about the morning show wars, called "Top of the Morning."

The series first aired in November 2019, and looks into the life of Katie Couric, Matt Lauer, and other essential players in the business.
While speaking to Danny Pellegrino on his podcast "Everything Iconic with Danny Pellegrino," Katie was asked if she had gotten around to watching the show, and she answered in the affirmative. When asked what her thoughts were, she said:
"… I thought some of it was really interesting..the long-term impact and the serious devastation that results from certain behaviors was quite well represented..."
While she did not go into details about what was interesting or not, Katie revealed that she's going to expressly detail her thoughts in the book she is currently working on, which is set to be released in 2021.
Katie talked about her life on television and some of the pressures she had to go through.
Katie also mentioned that Jennifer Aniston, who played the lead as Alex Levy, is a great actress and skilled at her craft. Still, she had some suggestions for how the character should be better represented.
The television veteran posited that while Jennifer was exceptional, certain things needed to be added to make the character more relatable. Katie mentioned that:
" … I wish they had made [Jennifer Aniston] more charismatic because I think you need a certain ebullience to pull off a show like that."
Speaking further on how she has evolved, Katie admitted that one of the reasons she left the "Today" show was because she felt it was beginning to set soft as she considers herself to be a journalist first and foremost.
Towards the end of the interview, Katie talked about her life on television and some of the pressures she had to go through as a woman in the television business.
"The Morning Show" tries to portray all of these pressures and dynamics that those who work in front and behind the cameras go through.
The series, which earned Jennifer Aniston, a SAG award, is scheduled to be back on the air for another season, although the date is not known.
