Katie also mentioned that Jennifer Aniston, who played the lead as Alex Levy, is a great actress and skilled at her craft. Still, she had some suggestions for how the character should be better represented.

The television veteran posited that while Jennifer was exceptional, certain things needed to be added to make the character more relatable. Katie mentioned that:

" … I wish they had made [Jennifer Aniston] more charismatic because I think you need a certain ebullience to pull off a show like that."

Speaking further on how she has evolved, Katie admitted that one of the reasons she left the "Today" show was because she felt it was beginning to set soft as she considers herself to be a journalist first and foremost.

Towards the end of the interview, Katie talked about her life on television and some of the pressures she had to go through as a woman in the television business.

"The Morning Show" tries to portray all of these pressures and dynamics that those who work in front and behind the cameras go through.

The series, which earned Jennifer Aniston, a SAG award, is scheduled to be back on the air for another season, although the date is not known.
