The couple is happily married and proud new parents to a baby girl who was just born in April of 2020. Here’s a look at their love story and journey into parenthood.
IMMEDIATE ROMANCE
Getting into a romantic relationship was quite a breeze for both Turner-Smith and Jackson. They quickly hit it off after meeting at Usher’s 40th star-studded birthday bash at Delilah, West Hollywood in October 2018.
Less than a month later, the pair were spotted bonding over lunch in Los Angeles. Things seemed casual between the two who wore laid back clothing and showed a little affection by holding hands.
By the end of the year, things between the two looked more serious as they went on vacation in Nicaragua for New Years.
Although neither of the two entertainers confirmed that they were together, their matching Instagram photos of the same sunset, by the same beach, with the same pool spoke volumes.
In August of the following year, the couple reportedly got their marriage license from Beverly Hills courthouse.
Turner-Smith never confirmed nor denied the rumors about their marriage, but simply thanked those who congratulated her.
INTERRACIAL MARRIAGE IN AMERICA
The actress was well-aware of the things people had to say about their interracial marriage, which frankly, upset people. She said:
“In America, interracial dating or marriage is not something that is accepted. Certain people feel strongly against it in both communities.”

The “Queen & Slim” actress experienced the dismay of people coming from her community about her relationship, which radiated negative energy that she did not want to add to.
The new mom first felt rejection from the black community after moving from England to America, as people noticed her white accent despite being a woman of color.

Turner-Smith and Jackson are among some couples in Hollywood who experienced hearing unsolicited opinions about their interracial relationship.
Loni Love and her boyfriend James Welsh were among those who were subject to interracial relationships. Another couple who joined the list was Tamera Mowry and Adam Housley.
Despite all the criticisms they got with their partners, the couples stayed strong and put love above all things.

“I’m learning there are certain things I have to really keep for myself,” Turner-Smith said. However, her silence did not mean hiding her man behind the cameras.
During the November 2019 promotion of “Queen & Slim,” the couple made their red carpet debut alongside each other.
THE COUPLE WELCOME THEIR FIRST CHILD TOGETHER
PEOPLE confirmed Turner-Smith and Jackson’s marriage in December, followed by their pregnancy news the month after.
