Body Language Expert Reveals Why Princess Beatrice Was 'Strained and Unhappy' During Appearance with Pregnant Princess Eugenie in London – Photos
Princess Beatrice put on a brave face during a rare outing with her sister Princess Eugenie, but a body language expert says the strain is impossible to hide. Here's what the expert observed.
She smiled for the cameras, but one expert says Princess Beatrice's body was telling a very different story.

The York sisters stepped out together in London on Thursday, 30 April, for a lunch date at Soho Mews House in Mayfair — their first joint public appearance in the capital since November.
The outing comes amid the ongoing fallout from the Epstein scandal surrounding their parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, and the sighting quickly drew attention not just for the reunion itself, but for what Beatrice's demeanour appeared to reveal.

Body language analyst Judi James told the Mirror that while Eugenie, 36, radiated composure and cheer, her older sister Beatrice, 37, was far harder to read as fine.
According to Judi, Beatrice "looks less able to bluff it out here, with her gestures and facial expression hinting that she has been hit hard by the fallout of her parent's dramas."

She noted that Beatrice's clothing choices alone were telling. "Beatrice walks behind her sister here, dressed in a very drab black on a warm sunny day, with her choice of outfit suggesting a desire to avoid attracting attention," Judi said.
In the photos, Beatrice is seen in all black, clutching her mobile phone, while Eugenie walks ahead in a green jacket and carries a Dior tote bag.

The expert also flagged Beatrice's physical gestures as signs of emotional guardedness.
"She has her large bag clamped to the front of her body in a barrier gesture, with one hand held over the front of the bag suggesting a desire to self-protect. In another photo she has her arms folded over her torso which could also be a sign of vulnerability," Judi observed.

Perhaps most striking were Judi's comments on Beatrice's face. "Her facial expression looks strained and unhappy here. Her eyes have a haunted expression, and her lips are clamped shut. Eugenie seems to try for a more carefree demeanour here, looking especially cheerful when she is walking next to her equally over-smiling husband Jack," the analyst said.
Eugenie's husband, Jack Brooksbank, joined her later that evening for a date night at the Michelin-starred Dorian restaurant in Notting Hill — the couple leaving all smiles as they climbed into a black cab with friends.
Meanwhile, eagle-eyed royal watchers noticed something else on the same day as the sisters' Mayfair lunch. A video circulating on social media appeared to show Beatrice departing St James's Palace in an Uber — without any royal protection or driver assistance — prompting a flurry of amused reactions online.
"Is this Princess Beatrice taking Uber with no help from the driver with luggage. That's a down grade. How funny😂," one netizen wrote. Another was more philosophical, adding, "Well all have to do it she no difference [sic]."
With the contrasting public images, sources suggest both sisters are navigating the crisis in their own ways. A royal source told the Daily Mail that Beatrice in particular has found herself "walking a tightrope, torn between filial loyalty and a desire to preserve her own status within the Royal Family as ninth in line to the throne."
Eugenie, by contrast, is said to have taken a harder line against their father.

Adding to the intrigue surrounding Beatrice, a separate report emerged around the same time suggesting she may be considering expanding her family.
A source told Woman's Day that Beatrice — who already has daughters Sienna and Athena with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi — could be planning another pregnancy.

The source was blunt in their assessment, describing Beatrice as "fast turning into the queen of denial". Eugenie, who recently announced she is pregnant with her third child, is said to be firmly against the idea.
"Eugenie thinks it's a mistake to bring another baby into that situation and she should work things out with Edo before blindsiding him with something like this. It's true he'd never walk out on his pregnant wife. But pinning all her hopes on a bandaid baby could make an already tense situation worse," the source claimed.

Representatives for both Beatrice and Eugenie have not commented on the reports. What the cameras captured that afternoon in Mayfair may have only scratched the surface.
Behind the lunch, the sunshine, and even the viral Uber moment, sources say Beatrice is carrying a far heavier private burden — one that extends well beyond her father's legal troubles and into the walls of her own home.

As Amomama readers may recall, Beatrice's marriage is said to be quietly fracturing behind closed doors — and the pressure comes from a scandal that isn't even hers to own.
Princess Beatrice, 37, is said to be going through one of the most painful periods of her life. As the ongoing Epstein scandal continues to cast a long shadow over her father, the former Prince Andrew, sources close to her and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 42, are now raising concerns that the turmoil is taking a serious toll on her marriage.

While Edo has publicly denied any problems, the whispers surrounding the couple have grown too loud to ignore. Friends fear that the weight of her family's very public crisis, combined with her husband's growing emotional and physical distance, has left Beatrice increasingly isolated.
"Things haven't been great for a while between them," one insider revealed, adding that while Beatrice has been determined to push through, the road ahead looks uncertain.

A Wife Left Behind
As Beatrice has been quietly weathering the storm of her father's arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office — charges he vehemently denies — Edo jetted off to sun-drenched Palm Beach, Florida, for a business trip promoting his interior design company, Banda.
While the trip had reportedly been planned in advance, many observers felt the timing was deeply unfortunate, given the scale of what his wife was facing back home.
Those close to the couple say a notable gulf has opened up. "There's been distance between them with his much-increased work travel lately, which he has been posting out [on social media] heavily in a way he didn't before," one acquaintance noted.
Edo's unusually active social media presence during the trip — all sun-soaked luxury and glamorous settings — struck many as tone-deaf given the circumstances.

Sources suggest Edo is acutely conscious of the potential reputational damage the York scandal could inflict on his flourishing business.
"He's really worried his in-laws will affect his business," a source admitted, noting that Banda has been gaining serious momentum, attracting wealthy investors. His priorities, some feel, have shifted accordingly.
The Woman Who Sees the Best in Everyone
Those who know Beatrice well describe a woman of enormous emotional generosity — sometimes to her own detriment.
She is said to "turn a blind eye to uncomfortable truths", a quality that has made her fiercely loyal to both her father and her husband, even as the picture around her grows more complicated.

While she is described as "desperate to hold things together" with Edo, the reality of juggling two young children, a father in legal jeopardy, and a husband who appears increasingly distracted has pushed her to her limits.
"Beatrice feels very raw and beside herself on so many levels," a well-placed source told the Mail on Sunday.

Adding another layer to the intrigue, one source was blunt about Edo's temperament. "He needs attention, he's one of those men," the source said. With Beatrice's emotional bandwidth stretched impossibly thin, his apparent need for validation may be going unmet.

What People Are Saying
The story has resonated deeply with royal watchers and the public alike, many of whom feel Beatrice has been unfairly caught in the crossfire of her parents' choices.
"Not surprising," one reader commented flatly, suggesting the cracks had been visible for some time."Oh my God, what is the reason?😮😮😮" another exclaimed, clearly shaken by the reports.

Others were quick to defend the princess. "She has no fault in what her parents did, it's sad that she has to take the punch. It's not fair," one person wrote passionately. "So sad ❤️," another simply expressed.
"Hope this isn't true. These girls are facing the fallout from their parents poor choices. I feel for them," someone else said sympathetically, capturing the sentiment felt by many.

A Source Confirms the Rumours
Perhaps most damning of all is what one insider conceded when pressed on the growing speculation about Edo's behaviour. "Sadly, those rumours sound credible," they said. "It would make sense when you look at how much he's travelling now."
With the Royal Household itself said to be in quiet discussion about the future — including the question of titles — the sense of instability is palpable. "Nothing is guaranteed any more," one source warned ominously.

Eugenie Faces Her Own Battle
Beatrice is not the only York daughter navigating this painful terrain. Her younger sister, Princess Eugenie, is reportedly caught in her own difficult position following revelations that their mother, Sarah Ferguson, has not been seen publicly since December, when she attended the christening of Beatrice's daughter, Athena.
Sarah and Andrew were forced to vacate Royal Lodge in Windsor, where they had lived for nearly two decades, and Sarah's current whereabouts remain unclear. She has not moved in with either of her daughters — and according to sources, Eugenie's husband, Jack Brooksbank, intends to keep it that way.

Jack is said to operate by a personal "code of honour" — one that means he won't abandon Andrew and Sarah entirely, but equally refuses to expose his own family to the fallout. His first loyalty, sources say, is to Eugenie and their two young children.
With his own consultancy business going from strength to strength, he is reportedly anxious that association with the scandal could taint everything he has built.

The couple are said to be quietly but firmly resisting any suggestion that Sarah should come to live with them — even on a temporary basis.
For both Beatrice and Eugenie, the crisis ignited by their parents' past choices continues to reshape the lives they have worked so hard to build for themselves — and the full consequences are still unfolding.
