According to People, the "All Rise" star took to her verified Instagram feed to reveal that she and her husband, Jonathan Blumenstein, have welcomed their third child together.
The unborn baby, whom Ruthie and Jonathan had already named Sophia Rosemary Wong Blumenstein, was due in the same month of May that her parents lost her.
Although there was no exact birth date attached to the sweet post, the actress did note that her daughter, Hope Elizabeth, was part of the "3 generations of April Babies."
The reason behind fans' excitement is the fact that the baby news came two years after People reported that Ruthie and her husband lost their 4-year-old daughter, Abigail Joy, in an accident.
A New York City Police Department source told People that the vehicle that had knocked down and killed Abigail and one other child was allegedly running a red light.
The Brooklyn crash occurred on Monday, March 5, 2018, when a 44-year-old woman reportedly "failed to maintain control of the vehicle and struck the pedestrians."
As at the time of the incident, Ruthie was believed to be pregnant. However, things soon changed when People announced that she had lost the baby, two months after the death of her daughter. A source, who spoke to People shortly after the unfortunate incident, said that:
"The only consolation she had in Abigail's death was the fact that her unborn baby had survived. But now losing that baby? She's crushed to her core."
