RHOA's Kandi Burruss Turns 44 and Thanks Fans for Their Lovely Birthday Wishes

Kandi Burruss teared up in a clip she shared marking her 44th birthday. She was grateful for the outpour of love and surprises and revealed her plans for the immediate future.

Kandi Burruss was filled with gratitude on her 44th birthday after receiving love from friends and family.

“Today has been amazing,” Kandi gushed on Instagram, as she thanked her loved ones for their birthday greetings, messages, and videos.

She also thanked her husband, Todd Tucker who prepared a surprise party for her. In a clip shared with her post where she’s glammed up, the mother-of-three was grateful to have seen people she hasn’t seen in a while due to the pandemic.

Kandi admitted she didn’t expect to celebrate her birthday which is why she teared up speaking about how happy she was. She also wished “the world would go back to normal” because she missed being with people.

Kandi was emotional when she spoke about the little things her loved ones did for her which mattered a lot. For instance, her daughter Riley, who just graduated from high school, baked her cakes from scratch.

She recalled making big plans at the start of the year which “went down the drain.” But she was grateful for the chance to rethink her life and appreciate things more.

Kandi resolved that this year, she will be “a better me.” She intends to focus on being healthier and being a better wife, friend, mom, and daughter. She also vowed to help others while looking forward to better days ahead.

In her caption, she announced that she was getting back to writing music and performing. In fact, she’ll be releasing a new song this week. Her caption ended in an optimistic note saying, “I’m gonna make this next year my best year yet.”

Among those who greeted Kandi on her birthday was her “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” co-star, NeNe Leakes. This comes as a surprise considering the climate of their friendship as of late.

NeNe has been shading Kandi recently because the latter appeared to b favoring her nemesis, Kenya Moore to her. Just days earlier, NeNe said Kandi was “boring” and faked a feud with her to make her more interesting.

It’s unclear if NeNe's birthday greeting was an olive branch considering its tone. She still seemed to be shading Kandi when she shared an unflattering photo of the two of them and wrote,

“I will NOT let the fake beef YOU made up to stop me from wishing you a Happy Birthday and posting my favorite pic of us Kandi.”

NeNe’s hashtags weren’t friendly either. She wrote, “Happy Birthday number 2,” “Forgettable,” “Kandiman,” “fun shade right,” and “Mrs. Atlanta.”

Things got more interesting when Kandi responded to NeNe's birthday greeting. She posted a throwback clip of NeNe singing her song. "What I need from you is some Understanding..." she wrote cryptically and added,

"This is a cute throwback! Love how you were singing my song @NeneLeakes! And thank you for the birthday wishes today...Much Love from “Miss Unforgettable”."

No doubt Kandi's post carried with it a subtle shade. Regardless, we're certain NeNe's comments against her didn't do much to dampen her spirits.

We wish Kandi a happy birthday and we're happy she's was in a state of bliss on her special day in spite of the setbacks imposed by COVID-19.
