Against a rugged rocky backdrop, Cassidy strikes effortless poses in a sleeveless beige top and light blue jeans. One image captures her seated with a bright smile, while another shows her leaning back with playful confidence.
With her tousled platinum hair and natural glow, Cassidy's photos highlight a timeless beauty that has captivated audiences for decades.
On Instagram, a netizen commented skeptically, "so airbrushed this is not reality," while another wrote, "Unique, exceptional Look for 80...." A third added, "🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥WOW!😍" in celebration of Cassidy's milestone.
Over on Facebook, one commenter shared, "I hope I look this good if I make it to 80 or even 90 years old. ❤️" Another praised, "Gorgeous! Natural beauty. Something we should all be proud of." Meanwhile, another noted, "She's beautiful. I wish we could all get past the need to act like a 20 yr [sic] old 'influencer.'"
Twitter also joined in the chorus of admiration. One fan gushed, "Wow She Looks Great For Her Age Too 🤩[sic]" while another tweeted, "THIS is Eighty [sic]!!" and someone else playfully added, "Sue Ellen's mama looks AMAZING [sic]!!!!"
In a People interview coinciding with her 80th birthday, Cassidy said that reaching the milestone has not changed how she feels about herself, explaining that she still carries the same energy and outlook she had in her 30s.
"Time is an illusion! I'm very aware of the fact that it's passing very quickly, but it's sort of nothing. I just say, 'Go day by day," Cassidy added.
Although Cassidy admitted she isn't thrilled by the number itself, she views this new decade as simply just another adventure in her life.
She explained further, "I know I'll make it through beautifully and come out the other side of that one. Who knows what'll happen after that? Just a decade. I think that when I turned 50, that was sort of the hard one, but this is just icing on the cake. I feel like I'm 35 and I think I look pretty good."
Cassidy also shared that staying youthful comes from nurturing her mind, body, and spirit. Rather than focusing on constant achievement, she now prioritizes maintaining her health, exercising regularly, and striving to be a kind and compassionate person.
The Hollywood star believes that keeping her mind open to personal growth not only strengthens her character but also supports her overall well-being.
She also highlighted the role of her daily routines, "I have animals. I love animals. I love to walk. I love to exercise. It's important to me to interact with people and hear them and listen and see what kind of exchange we can make."
Adding to her positive outlook is her relationship with Alan Hamel, widower of the late Suzanne Somers. The two reconnected earlier this year after decades apart and recently made their unofficial debut as a couple. Cassidy described their reunion as "miraculous," noting that she had not seen him in 30 years.
"She's a great woman. The thing is that she will help anybody to do anything. She's amazing that way," Hamel said of Cassidy. He admitted that being with the actress often inspires him to want to do more for the world.
The couple plans to celebrate Cassidy's birthday throughout August by spending time outdoors and creating new memories together. Hamel expressed that he views aging as a rewarding process, noting that each milestone birthday feels richer and more meaningful, especially when celebrated after several years.

Now, as Hamel continues to embrace this new chapter with Cassidy, their relationship remains a topic of public conversation, sparking a mix of surprise, support, and strong opinions from fans who didn't see this twist coming.

On June 23, Hamel was photographed arm in arm with Cassidy, enjoying their time together and their newly found love. They were spotted in Malibu, wearing matching Malibu Beach Inn baseball caps as they grabbed lunch at Broad Street Oyster Company.
Hamel confirmed to Page Six that they were dating. The pair have known each other for 45 years, with Hamel recalling that Cassidy appeared as a guest star on "The Alan Hamel Show" in Canada in the 1970s. He described it as a dynamic episode, noting that they liked each other, not romantically, but with mutual respect, as both were married at the time.
The duo crossed paths again when Cassidy and Somers starred together in the 1985 miniseries "Hollywood Wives." "It was very cordial," noted Hamel.

As for how the pair reconnected, Hamel shared that his son, Stephen, played matchmaker. Stephen had met Cassidy at a screening and, after a long conversation, suggested that she and Hamel might get along and should meet — unaware that the two had already known each other.
Now, the two are dating, with Hamel praising Cassidy as an accomplished and hardworking actress, noting that she has remained active in Hollywood for more than 50 years. "She's a great mother to her adult children, turns up for many fundraisers for first responders, and is staff for her four cats. She is no Hollywood BS, and we laugh a lot," he gushed.

However, another voice chimed in with a compassionate take, "Suzanne would want him to be happy." Skepticism surfaced in this pointed remark, "You’re 88 dude yesss [sic] you need love but put it towards your kids and grandkids. Seriously 😯😯." And finally, someone took a darkly humorous approach, warning, "I would haunt them both."

Despite the online chatter, Hamel is confident he has Somers' blessing. Before she died, just a day prior to what would have been her 77th birthday, she encouraged him to embrace life after her and not be afraid to move forward.
Hamel recalled that Somers would tell him, "Don't mope around. Live your life. We will see one another after you cross over." Even so, he admitted that he was unsure of what the future held for his relationship with Cassidy.

However, the actor said that at this stage of life — which he described as the "cocktail hour" — he felt deeply fortunate. He credited Suzanne Somers for the incredible family they built together, the fulfilling life they shared, and the business they started five decades ago.
Looking ahead, he said, "I'm fortunate to have Joanna in my life. Most men would love to have a Joanna in their life."

Hamel has openly reflected on the impact of losing his wife, acknowledging that her death marked a significant shift in his life.
Speaking in an interview shortly after her passing, he revealed that he and Somers had discussed the possibility of this moment, always assuming he would go first because of their 10-year age difference. He admitted that the thought of her being left alone had always troubled him deeply.

According to Somers' representatives, Hamel also wrote her a heartfelt letter reflecting on their "magical" 55 years together — a letter she read the night before she passed away.

In the letter, which was written entirely in all caps, Hamel expressed that the word "love" is often used casually in everyday life, but none of those uses come close to capturing what he truly felt for Somers.

"It's not even a fraction of a fraction of a fraction. Unconditional love does not do it. I'll take a bullet for you doesn't do it. I weep when I think about my feelings for you. Feelings ... That's getting close, but not all the way," he penned.

Alan Hamel ended the letter by stating that no words, actions, promises, or declarations could adequately express the depth of his feelings for Somers. "So I will call it, 'Us.' Uniquely, magically, indescribably wonderful 'Us,'" he concluded.
