Gabourey Sidibe of 'Precious' Rocks Jheri Curl and Purple Lips in New Selfies

Gabourey Sidibe recently shared new Instagram photos of herself flaunting her natural curls and bright purple lipstick.

Quarantine has made days feel longer than they actually are as millions are stuck in their home in a bid to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.

Among those who felt the long quarantine days is Gabby Sidibe, who turned to social media to share what she is doing.

The “Precious” star recently shared photos of herself amid quarantine on Instagram. “Have I been in quarantine too long or does Jheri Curl seem like a perfectly reasonable thing to do right now?” she wrote.

Her caption came alongside a close-up selfie of her loose curls and bright purple lipstick. The actress also looked fresh in a black sleeveless top and gold hoop earrings.

She tried several diets and dealt with eating disorders, but nothing resulted in shedding pounds of the scale.

In another post, Sidibe flaunted her neatly braided locks as she gave a half-smile to the camera. She joked in her caption:

“I had to braid my own hair and I’m so disappointed that my Senegalese ancestors didn’t rise up in my fingers to help me with these.”

Through the years, Sidibe has been successful in her career and in making better choices for herself. A few years back, she underwent weight loss surgery to take better care of her health.

The Academy Award winner had laparoscopic bariatric surgery to shed off a few pounds after she and her brother were diagnosed with diabetes.

“I just didn’t want to worry,” she said at that time. I truly didn’t want to worry about all the effects that go along with diabetes. I genuinely worry all the time about losing my toes.”

Sidibe isn’t shy to tell her journey through weight loss, which began in her younger years. She tried several diets and dealt with eating disorders, but nothing resulted in shedding pounds of the scale.

Although she knows her weight loss is for the best, the actress doesn’t like receiving compliments and congratulations from strangers.

FINDING LOVE IN SOMEONE ELSE

In 2019, Sidibe fell in love with Brandon Frankel, who is now her boyfriend. The couple has been spending quarantine together and bonding over different activities.

Both Sidibe and Frankel have been posting about their days together on social media, including quality time at Tulum Cenote in Mexico last April.

In the photo, the pair stood side by side in an all-black beach ensemble with matching helmet gear as they walked in a cave.

Certainly, the actress and her boyfriend are very much in love, as seen in their several Instagram posts of each other.
