First Lady, Melania Trump, acknowledges students and their determination despite the COVID-19 Pandemic.
The First Lady of the United States of America, Melania Trump, made a pre-recorded speech, which was aired on CNN and later posted on her official Instagram page to acknowledge, encourage and praise the determination and resilience of students all over the country.

The widespread of the COVID-19 pandemic around the world made many nations take desperate measures to protect their citizens and curtail the spread of the virus.
Melania Trump has advised citizens to keep social distance, stay safe, and wear masks as parts of the country reopen.
Some of these measures included closing borders to international travel and shutting down public spaces, which invariably meant that schools could not be open.
In the pre-recorded speech, the First Lady thanked students for their understanding of the situation and learning to adapt to the alternatives presented, and the new living conditions following the outbreak of the pandemic.
Melania repeatedly appreciated students for helping keep their families, communities, and the United States at large safe by adhering to the rules. CNN reported that Melania assured the students that their strength was much admired and would not be forgotten.
She sympathized with the students who have missed seeing their friends, stopped playing their favorite sports, and had their proms and graduation ceremonies canceled, due to the pandemic. The 50-year old encouraged them, saying:
"your determination to get through this will define your generation for years to come."
Melania also advised students to keep in touch with their friends, learn new sports, and help out around the house. According to Daily Mail, the televised speech is the first of its kind from the First Lady as she took the stage alone to address the nation.
While Melania has made several public service announcements concerning children’s health and even runs a “Be Best” program for children, this is the first time she is coming out solo, in a video, to make a statement since the shutdown.
Daily mail further states that the speech was met with mixed reactions from citizens of the United States and viewers worldwide partly because of the platform on which it was first aired.
CNN is a huge critic of Donald Trump, and the President has come out several times to debunk their reports as ”fake news,” so it was surprising to many that they covered the First Lady’s speech.
Melania Trump has advised citizens to keep social distance, stay safe and wear masks as parts of the country reopen, but in photos released on Express UK, the First Lady was without any face covering.
The media and citizens of America bashed the move, but Melania’s thoughtful speech has switched the commentary.
