The need to test for the virus came after it was revealed that many prominent political figures, including Kentucky's Senator Rand Paul and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's wife, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, tested positive for the virus.

Ivanka Trump, the President's daughter and a senior White House aide, and Vice President Mike Pence also got tested as well and were found to be negative, the White House has stated.

The first family has additionally made it a point to stay in Washington, D.C. as more states started implementing restrictions on non-essential travel and work as a way to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus pandemic.

While taking precautionary measures, Melania took a moment to pay tribute to her son, Barron William Trump, during his 14th birthday celebration, Daily Mail disclosed.

The FLOTUS had shared a picture of two floating silver balloons that spelled out the number 14, as she tweeted: "Happy Birthday BWT."
