Khary Payton recently shared an emotional post on his Instagram page, in which he revealed that his son is transgender and showed him some love.
For any LGBTQ+ child, coming out as trans can be scary, so the parents' responsibility is to make a smooth landing for their child as they begin a new phase in their life.
Many celebrities are setting a great example in this regard. The likes of Gabrielle Union and her husband Dwyane Wade, actress Charlize Theron, have all come out in recent times to openly support their trans children.
Recently, "Walking Dead" star Khary Payton followed the trend of celebrity parents coming out to support their trans children when he took to his Instagram page to reveal that his son is trans.
Payton shared a picture of his son alongside a heartfelt message in which he shows support for his son's bravery and also says how proud he is to be his dad. While sharing the picture, Payton wrote:
"My son, Karter. Karter with a K because it reminded him of my name. He chose it. You see, he was born female but has always identified as a boy…."
In the photo, Payton's son can be seen wearing a neon green t-shirt with a helmet and other safety gear as he gives a thumbs up.
The proud father, while pledging his support for his son, revealed that he warned his son about trolls who would have something negative to say about him coming out with his truth, but his son assured him he could handle them.
Fans of the post-apocalyptic hit series will soon find out the fate of their favorite characters in the season 10 finale.
Payton also expressed his joy, saying, "there is nothing more beautiful," than being able to witness his son make the brave decision to be true to himself.
The post has garnered several reactions from the actor's fans, with many of them also showing support for little Karter. Payton concluded the post by writing:
"This is his journey, and I am here for it. I hope you all have the opportunity to feel the unquenchable love I am feeling right now."
