The pulmonary embolism, which took root in his heart, is said to be a “life-threatening” illness, which resulted in one or more of his arteries getting obstructed by blood. Even though it took him time to come to terms with it, the “Dog’s Most Wanted” star told People that:

“I’m not afraid to die anymore, but I really didn’t care for awhile if something would happen. I do care now.”

To that end, the US Sun revealed that in addition to being placed on blood thinners, the 67-year-old reality star has also reduced his cigarette intake. Duane, who used to smoke at least four packs a day, has now restricted it to one pack of cigarettes a day.

Duane and Francie began dating shortly after Duane allegedly got out of a relationship with Moon Angell - who is said to be his late wife’s friend.

The bounty hunter and former bail bondsman has since blamed his health troubles on the heartbreak he suffered when Beth passed away following a battle with throat cancer.

According to Today, Duane claimed that after his wife’s death, he had trouble maintaining his weight as he found it difficult to order food or even eat the food.

Things seem to be slightly better for Duane, who recently got engaged to Francie Frane, a few months after they began dating. The couple made things even better for the Chapman family after Lyssa told The Sun about the first time she met her father’s fiancée.

The mother of two narrated that she and her daughters, Madalynn and Abbie, traveled to Colorado to spend some time with Duane as well as get to know Francie. Noting that it was a shock to see her father looking “amazing and healthy,” the 32-year-old said:

“Francie was also there, and as soon as we met, it was like we've known each other for 10 years or 20 years or forever.”
