Daily Joke: The Boss Called a New Employee into His Office
Today’s #jokeoftheday is about a boss who called a new employee into his office to find out his name.
For most bosses, it is essential to show a new employee who is in charge to avoid any disrespect or familiarity in the workplace. This was what a manager at a large office hoped to do when he noticed a new face in the building. On seeing the guy, he told him to come into his office and asked for his name.

The employee answered and said his name is John, but the manager was offended by his response. He lashed out at the employee, saying, “Look, I don’t know what kind of a namby-pamby place you worked before, but I don’t call anyone by their first name.”
He explained that referring to colleagues on a first name basis breeds familiarity and disrespect, and he didn’t want that.

Hence, he chose to refer to his co-worker by their last names so that things can be official. The manager confirmed with the employee if he understood the drill and then asked for his surname.
Knowing what was about to happen, the employee sighed before he replied, “Darling. My name is John Darling.”
On realizing how unusual the employee’s last name is, the manager answered, saying, “Okay, John, the next thing I want to tell you is…” Another joke tells the story of an energetic young man working at a construction site.
Due to his enormous strength, he always bragged about his ability to outperform others and especially made fun of an older colleague.

After several minutes of taunting, the older man had enough and challenged him. He said, "Why don’t you put your money where your mouth is. I will bet a week’s wages that I can haul something in a wheelbarrow over to that outbuilding that you won’t be able to wheel back.”
The young man laughed at the challenge and mocked him for being old before accepting it.
To his surprise, the senior man grabbed a wheelbarrow and then turned to him and said, “Alright, get in.” Who would have thought?! Did you enjoy this joke?
